Rule 8 - Use your slot

Description of the incident:

On LV, JEH was playing as the Queen. From the beginning, they insisted that they would not de-ovi for any reason and that we would have to win by ourselves. I asked repeatedly why and was met only with insisting that they had ‘done this before’ and that the xenos would and could win without a Queen, accusing anyone who thought otherwise as ‘bitching and whining xenos’. Thereafter, JEH insisted that we were not to hold beach, or the chokes of any caves and that we would have to let them into caves to ‘make it hard for them to retreat’. From Ovi, JEH remained at full plasma for most of the round, did not weed caves or build when marines were pushing. During the round, JEH would yell at T1s for dying and insisted that they should wait behind the other xenos and not play ‘riskily’. They then ordered backliners to fight in nexus and complained in hivemind when the backliners died in nexus without any weeding, clusters or support.

When the marines inevitably pushed to right next to the Core and Queen, JEH ranted at all xenos left alive saying ‘if you force me to de ovi I consider it a defeat for us’ and that we hadn’t tried hard enough to win the game. Not long after that, JEH finally de-ovid and ordered all xenos to abandon the core and flank with her around to the other side of the core, a maneuver which would cost us the core. When I tried to explain that we would not be able to get any caps without the core, JEH threatened to re-ovi just to banish me. They then walked around lake to the other side of the core, screeched and died almost immediately.

Where it gets truly egregious is in dchat after they died, where they continued to insist that xenos ‘don’t need a queen to win’ and that we would need to learn to adapt because they were planning to remove combat queen from the game. It’s all well and good to believe wholeheartedly in your strategy of staying on ovi until certain doom, belittling and ordering xenos around on hivemind without tactical consideration, but when you admit in dchat after the game that you never had any intention of playing Queen appropriately in the first place it becomes unacceptable.

I was there at that round, paying attention to the queen. What the report said is true and the jist of it. Only wanted to add their dchat was about how a combat queen isn’t needed, as they insisted essentially that ovi only queen is the way to go and the way of the future.

I was up front about not wanting to take part in combat unless we have won or lost completely ( as I ended up doing), during the round I supported the hive with heals, remote weeding and walling, giving pheros, evo points and guiding them around. My reasoning for that is that on ovi I still support the hive without griefing my whole team by leaving ovi position and preventing evo and potentially loosing the round for the whole team. I know it got heated in dchat and there is a queen rework and i kinda lost my temper but am working on it

hello, while sitting on ovi all round is a bit stupid, it is still a valid strategy. they were building and healing xenos, still making use of their slot. they were, however, overly toxic in deadchat over people not liking their gimmick. i will be applying a 7 day ban for rule 3
