What are you reporting?:

Enforcement Action Taken

Description of the incident:

I said, ‘Fuck you Queen’, for banishing Warrior GOD while they were fighting, almost getting them killed. I did not disobey any orders, and I obeyed them and went back into Filt like she asked.

While I understand that Xenos have no free will, and expressed that by following her orders, at no point is this stated in the rules that Xenos cannot express their disapproval of these orders. Furthermore, I don’t believe that human players can accurately convey what a hivemind is thinking nor should they be expected to, to such an extent, in the context of the game. Marines can say, fuck you XO, fuck you CO, even disobey orders, and while I understand that the restrictions for xenos are tighter especially when it comes to following orders, I was not aware that this extended to Insulting the Queen.

In addition, I don’t believe that WAR was acting in good faith by using banishments on people who were actively fighting and shouldn’t be expected to immediately disengage, though after the fight I did drag GOD back to filt caves and he did stay there. This is reinforced by WAR refusing to hijack later in the round in order to kill hapless marines. To summarize, I don’t think that SmellyHippie enforced this rule in good faith given that such a situation is not mentioned in the rules nor did it have any impact on the round since I did follow orders even despite my disapproval. This is at most an IC issue.

If this report is not approved, I would like an addendum to be added to the rules to prevent future situations occurring.

I wanted to add some things which I neglected to mention or didn’t make clear in the original report. Sorry if it’s any trouble.

  1. GOD wasn’t given a reasonable chance to follow the orders, since they were fighting the marines during and leading up to the banishment. I hope you’ll understand now my outrage and why I felt the need to make it clear to the Queen that it wasn’t a fair thing to do.

  2. It created an RP scenario, wherein I had to settle things with the Queen, defend her and helped her throughout the round to prove my loyalty to her and make it up to her, following her orders without complaint for the rest of the round. I think it honestly improved the round, all things considered.

  3. SmellyHippie enforced the ruling after more than an hour had passed since the incident, which I dropped almost immediately after the situation with GOD was resolved and he was unbanished, which I interpreted as her admitting that she had done wrong by him, further reinforced by many other xenos echoing that GOD should be unbanished and refusing to kill then. I hope that this also goes to support the idea that this was an IC issue, which was resolved IC.

Hippie’s ruling, whilst perhaps delayed from the incident, is correct.
Xenos lacking free will means insulting the queen runs afoul of the RP expectations.
