In universe? Maybe, there is some tesla technology and having it be manually carried could be theoretically valid, seeing as stuff like laser guns use energy packs effectively, something like a large backpack to carry the charges could work?
In terms of balance, i have a hard time seeing it, stuns on xenos come with a free kill generally if theres other to support you, Sadar or GL but both are heavily restricted, GL by being just difficult to juggle, sadar by a heavy load time and limited shots. Introducing something like this should fully replace Sadar for example, but again the balancing would be insane
Doesnt seem like it’ll bring much to the table, we already have the grenadier, who is an IFF stunlock specialist.
Imo if something isnt unique or has it’s own niche its not worth adding, lest we subscribe to the cursed TGMC tradition of adding 20 variations of the same weapon.

Can’t wait for 2030, when marines vote to either be USCM, TWE or UPP. And xenoes get to vote to be either Prime, Pathogen, or hidden third Xeno that I don’t know yet. Arcturians when?

I don’t know if there is a feature map for the sentry rework yet, but this could be a really cool idea for a tesla variant!
CT plants a big transformer on the ground, with a high and low current rifle hooked to the side and connected with telephone wire. Marines can grab rifles for use, with the manual fire component circumventing some normal tesla downsides like auto-shocking other turrets?
