I have been hearing some talk about how the xeno faction has no RP, and is all about min/maxxing or whatever.
But for people who don’t play xeno, what RP are you expecting out of them?

That is a really good question. Honestly, I have no idea what the standard of Xeno RP is other than no Net Speak. All I know is I hate all references to mom.

Xeno RP is indeed dead, but I am not sure what the solution is. Its quite difficult to “RP” being a hive mind in a way engaging for the person doing it. Its an issue that needs a think tank.

I think “RP” as xeno is to condense the most possible information into the smallest chunk, it’s a hivemind so every call-out is that to me. Talls are here, SADAR is here, defend this spot. Xeno RP never done cause having fun will get you a note. You’re supposed to call tanks turtles and guns spitters, but without a complete dictionary this totally falls apart.

In general, it’s assumed that you’re saying the correct xeno thing, and it’s just being instantly translated for us. Like Tolkien with his hobbit names. But that same logic is why I have no problems with:
“Plasma sentry medical”
As to why you never seen anything more than that, it’s cause every time you do you’re running the risk of that little DOOT DOOT DOOT of an admin notification. Saying anything silly or even kind of a joke is LRP, cause really the only HRP thing to do is sit still and *growl every few minutes

Just use terms like “talls”, “turtle”, “sky fire” and don’t spout memes in hivemind. THat is HRP behaviour.

SOL does this great thing where their messages are like “my claws hunger for their flesh! I wave my tail mightily, my feet stamp the ground!” (Something like that)
I also find slavish devotion to the queen’s plan to be RPful
This doesn’t stop me from dooming but I will ghost before I tell the queen her plan is bad
E: personally, I don’t consider terms like turtle/spitter/bird to be inherently RPful, since chat is canonically an English translation of the unknowable xeno speech, so they should just be the normal words for those things (I still use said “xeno terms” most of the time but don’t get bothered by people neglecting to do so)
Literally what can you roleplay as when your role is a hostile alien that seeks to kill and maim? Literally what IS there to even roleplay?

mindlessly killing stuff is what xenos do, you dont do thinking you do what the queen wants, 99% of the time that is as mentioned, killing everything that moves

I only play zerker ravager and most of the time I am angry out of my mind.
I call everyone shit.
I tell the queen her plans are shit.
I yell at my team mates for losing or not doing good.
This is not flamming my fellow players. Its all HRP.

Call me a Mormon, but I hate the excessive swearing and acronym usage. People literally treat it like it’s an OOC chat, malding at other players, specifically talking in a way like they are complaining about the player themselves. Rather than complaining in a way as though they are upset about their fellow alien creature making a dire mistake. And the amounts of lols omgs lmaos and etcs I’ve seen… literally zero effort put in.
Honestly the only actually good roleplay I’ve ever had as a xenomorph has been with synths, where I get to insult them and their inferior creators, they say some retort back, and then they kill me because I suck ass. Now that is soul.

from what I know, xenos only tap on windows or spin around whenever they see a player that can’t kill them and that they can’t get to.
Also, someone said that xeno meta gaming survs is a result of surv meta gaming soooo idk
