Description of the incident:
Hijack. CO dead, mostly everyone dead. I am an SO with an XO. We make a good effort at the Hangar and I’m put in critical condition. At this point we’ve retaken the Alamo, destroyed the hive core and killed quite a few T3s, having done some good damage myself as well with the HG shotgun. Then as I am being healed up the CL comes up and steals my weapon off of my armor.
I don’t want to get in trouble for what might be improper escalation, so I ahelp to clarify the situation. I am told that in this case escalation rules apply normally, that its somewhat acceptable for them to get a self defense weapon during a hijack, and that I can only shove them down and such. Alright, I go and shove them down after they don’t give the shotgun back. Logs should confirm that I take the gun, and try to walk away. I am then chased by the CL and their bodyguard, they pepper spray me, repeatedly slam me on a table during hijack and 20 tiles from xenos, strip my armour and leave me blind for the next 5 minutes. I did not escalate the situation at all, and what they did effectively put me out of the round.
I Ahelp it, am told that this is an ingame issue. I continue to be blind for the rest of the round and die, about 5 tiles from where I was blinded, waiting to be treated.
I believe this player was toeing the line on griefing, went too far and is very consciously griefing players knowing that CL has some leniency. I also know that they were stealing stuff from other marines during this time.
I go down and lose my HG shotgun. I wake up and see someone (you) running away with an HG shotgun, leaving where mine was.
You left out, conveniently, that you threatened to kill me while I took what I thought was my gun back. Please tell me why I should trust you.
You apparently have an issue with me pepper spraying you but see no issue shoving me, making my shotgun go off, all the while xenos are nearby.
I told you “No” the first time you started shoving me and tried to shove you back, but you kept at it. You did not stop and insisted on being a nuisance so I pepper sprayed you and hit you three times so you would leave me alone.
Your body came to rest in the medbay, not the briefing hall. I know this because I was going to try and drag you but there were too many xenos. To say I “put you out of the round” for something that you had complete control of is an overstatement.
Yes, I do play an asshole CL, but I do not go out of my way to bother people (for the most part). If, instead, you had asked or pointed or communicated in literally any way, rather than wordlessly shoving me mid-fighting, we could’ve avoided this whole report.
I was on the ground critted, and we took the HG kits together. I even commented on it asking you how you knew about those kits, as you just picked up a shotgun and started blasting the safe. Not very CL.
Did I harm you in any way at all? Did I do anything after getting my gun back? You’re the instigator in this case, you don’t get to choose who you “trust.”
The gun you stole off of me. We were not in immediate danger at the time, your 5 seconds of being on the ground did not necessitate the rest of my round being blown up.
I took my gun and left, so this is straight up false. And you are the nuisance here.

Hmm, as opposed to taking the gun of a downed SO because you got downed and lost your own shit?
EDIT: I would also like to say that this is beyond “being an asshole CL.” You’re using RPing as a dick as an excuse to grief people or do whatever you want. Being antagonistic is one thing, using the CL role to soft grief in a way you could get away with it is another. Antagonistic characters are nice when they add something to your game, not when they maliciously toe the line to grief your game.
During the same round, CL took my character’s (sniper specialist) night vision goggles and ID card to unlock them. When the doctor defibrillated my character, I tried to take off the glasses from CL and asked them nicely, but got pepper sprayed instead.
I don’t have a medhud so I assumed you had perma’d at that point, and thus I took the sight.
You tried, wordlessly, to take them off while I was running around. You did this about 10 times. When you did ask, instead of waiting the 2 seconds for me to remove them, you IMMEDIATELY went back to trying to strip me.
Hi, I have taken a look into the incident and while it was handled in round with new information that has come out as a result of this a warning has been issued to the CL in question. This is due to them pepper-spraying the player reporting 12 times even while they were incapacitated, resulting in them being blind the entire round, and doing the same to a specialist whose NVGs they also stole and unlocked with their ID when the player attempted to reclaim them.
Both of these are being taken as griefing, as you should not be stealing specialist equipment and you should not be rendering people permanently blind for the round. Report accepted.
