What is your Synthetic’s Personality?

Aku is a business line synthetic model made for the more rich. They’re often used for assistants or secretaries due to their respectful and calm demeanor. They are also programmed with the ability to “find” effective solutions to any problem and are quite adaptive to the environment they are in, though always keeping a professional attitude.

How will they react to the different ranks of the USCM, what would they talk about in a one on one conversation? What are their interests? What is an advertisement logline that could be written for them?

Aku will treat the ranks of the Almayer as they would any sort of business would treat their workers. The CO or leading officer to be The CEO, The SO/ASO/SEA/CMO to be the “Board of directors” and many more!

A conversation with my synthetic would be about the costs of many things and findings ways to make it more effective or efficient! An example could be… A marine has about 5 broken bones and my synthetic would simply offer to fix their bones as the poor medic who used those splints is now down a stack of them and the cost to walk back to the FOB isn’t worth the potential loss of a medic. They could even suggest adding a flamethrower onto your gun to increase it’s killing effectiveness by a whooping 8.9%!

An advertisement would be a long the lines of…

“Tired of working countless hours with little sleep on an dead end job that doesn’t appreciate you? Well how about an Aku Model Synthetic! No longer will you have to work overtime as it’s programmed to function with even the littlest amount of power! Armed with the knowledge to make any workplace, business or even hospital into a thriving ,flourishing place that would make you rich! All the while saving your wallet and your sleep from a tragic ending!”

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

Honestly… I could bore you with the same old “I’m a support player” yadda yadda. But that’s not something that fits me! I personally think a business focused synthetic with an adaptable personality and professionalism could make for some fun RP experiences for both xenomorphs and marines alike! Plus… I tend to have too much free time on my hands and I basically only carry a boot knife most rounds anyways!

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

Honestly… I can’t say any in particular stuck out to me but I do tend to make a good laugh or rooting while observing synthetics as they give lectures or say “It’s not x, It’s Malcolm” or Even Holiday who always keeps going despite the situation!

Well I’d say I’m quite trained in this as I tend to roll on bravo CT and just make FOB that I find good. Id give myself a 8 out of 10

Command:

This… is a bit tricky, but I’ve played SO few times to train myself and I can confidently say I’ve gotten the basics and the knows down! (Even Intel I relearned as I was RPing as an agent one round!) 7 outta 10!

Medical:

Basically I can do it all! Medical being my most played role (I actually enjoy doing chem line) and am very familiar with the surgeries and even “budget” surgeries! 9 out of 10… Research is still a bit of an enigma me but I can do the basics!

Requisitions:

I wouldn’t call myself the best but I certainly know how to run and handle req. If I’m often seen on CT there, I like handling the making of big crates, yelling for orders and what’s needed and basically keeping the things going, all while managing the budget! 8 out of 10!

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

A synthetics main role isn’t to be on the front lines but an adaptable support unit keeping things going smoothly wether that be repairs, casing, medical work or maybe all of the above! Though that doesn’t mean a synthetic can’t fight back, they seek peace but are always prepared for war!

So let’s set a scene!

It’s me and some group of Marines being directed to handle comms as the back liners have broken it! Oh no, this loss of communication can be seen as lack of effectiveness and remedied by a simple repair and some fortifications there to keep it up for maximum effectiveness. We make our way to comms but along the way a rav and 2 lurkers show up! I’m with a medic, 2 marines and an SG. The medic gets rushed down by the rav and killed! I run over to grab them telling the Marines I’ve got this handled and sticking together for maximum effectiveness! I’ve got the medic on my shoulders and we are slowly heading towards comms, the 2 marines have left me, the SG and the medic for dead out of fear of their own lives! Me and the SG continue on before another attack happens! The SG arm gets fractured, but any attempt of repairing it with a splint is interrupted by those lurkers! I decided this isn’t effective and bring out whatever I have available to scare these threats away! I smack the lurker, once twice,three times before it hisses and runs away! The SG has managed to also scare off the other lurker and we have some time before they return, I quickly splint their arm and suggest we hurry it up as that’s the most effective choice! We finally make it to the comms area where reinforce arrives to cover our safety and I am safely able to get this medic back alive and working at maximum efficiency!

seen them a few times here and there while playing, and haven’t gotten a negative interaction with them so far, for roleplaying competency I believe they can play out there role effective enough without seeming lrp so ill give my +1

Seconding devin’s request because Yao is LCPL or PVT in most support roles but you clearly have playtime from prior to when it was all wiped.

You have a support player mindset, i know you played a shitton of synth on TGMC; i cant say a lot bad about that experience but there were some gaps or more like weird prioritizations of tasks there (knowing also the rules are relatively looser around combat). I dont think it’s totally fair to make you have to regrind 300 hours here if you already have that from before, but definitely more recent consistency in support roles would be nice, not just for hoursmaxxing but to indicate the quality of what you can do (and i know you can do a lot very well, i’ve enjoyed playing with you here a lot)

And wow someone who actually knows me from TGMC. I actually decided to quit since it got a bit repetitive, I am mostly a synthetic and xeno player from there. Though I am glad to hear you enjoy my company! I try to socialize where able, even in dead chat or ooc ill yell hello to someone.

I do genuinely enjoy more supportive roles since I find regular killing them!! To be bland and by default unfun and seemingly removing someone from the game doesnt always feel right.

I think you’re a good guy, funny and a decent roleplayer. The thing I’m concerned about, now looking at it, is that considering your username your character name is basically ‘Yaoi’. Why?

To answer that bit! My friends all call me Yao as its what I’m preferred to be called oocly. Yaoi was just part of my usernames and what I’ve tended to use since the dawn of time. I also use it since if youve ever met me on TGMC, I name change ALL the time, so I decided to stick with Yao.

Hi YaoSans and thanks for your interest in the Synthetic Whitelist.

Although I see what you are going for in your Synthetic’s personality description, I just don’t see it reflected very well by your examples or in the story. The story itself does not read very well and it doesn’t have a very captivating story. Keep it short and steady, don’t add additional fluff unless it has a purpose to the story or the dialogue. On that note, you several punctuation errors and many times where you opted to capitalize proper nouns, only to not capitalize them in the following sentence. Sometimes you were missing a space, other times you were missing periods, apostrophes, sometimes you capitalized everything like ‘Good Evening Sir’. These are simple errors that you should be able to fix readily. The real issue however is the dialogue you provided for Aku, it just does not really give off a personality or showcase any quirk. Your Synthetic also problematically tends to ask multiple questions in each sentence, before the other person even has a chance to respond to the first one. It doesn’t bode well for the confidence or efficiency a Synthetic would speak with.
The dialogue is just a bit unimpressive and it feels kind of dry.
Example.
"What type of fuel are you using? I don’t recall seeing this type of fueling before with this generator as it’s making it on the expensive side of things. I also recall it stating that a certain buzzing would be heard while the fuel is in use, is it not on?”
It really just doesn’t read well. “What type of fuel are you utilizing? I was expecting that there would be a buzzing noise when it’s in operation.” would be a lot more to-the-point and less… confusing. Overall your story focuses too much on random story points and the thought process of Aku instead of Aku’s interactions with his universe. Please consider rewriting it, it is extremely difficult to ascertain his personality & dialogue in the current state.

Your answers for your skills could use some more elaboration: just talk more about what you can do confidently, and what you like about the roles.

Your combat scenarios should be multiple uncommon scenarios where you are able to engage contacts. You provided one scenario to a lot of detail where, you omitted the rav which had killed the medic, and you pushed forwards onto your objective despite having less than 50% combat efficiency with the casualties and dead. In this scenario it would have been wiser to grab the dead corpsman and immediately withdraw to safety, not to push forwards against superior enemies.

During our observations we found that your medical capabilties appear to be acceptable, but the comtech/engineering capabilities fell short of what we expected. Some key parts of basic barricade theory were missing, such as corner-slashing cades(where a xenomorph can break your corner barricade without any reprecussions). There are a couple ways to remedy this but playing more and having a look at the comtech guide or even the quickstart marine barricade guide should give you the fundamentals.

Unfortunately this application will be denied as it doesn’t meet our standards, but you can reapply in 30 days(starting 11/19/24). I understand you are very passionate about medical and RP, so I hope you take this feedback in good faith and improve on all aspects. Consider reworking the personality & story especially, and working on your support roles. I wish you the best of luck!
