Liaisons are a very rp-dense role that thrive best when engaging with other players, but they can sometimes be a little bit all over the place. Sometimes they’re deploying to go find intelligence like the colony black box, sometimes they’re babysitting the fax machine waiting for a response, and sometimes they’re getting lobotomized by a Bravo marine with a pen.
How do you best enjoy interacting with a Liaison, and where? Do you frown upon seeing them deploy, do you dislike it when they try to make CIC sign things? What do you think most of them do wrong? I’m curious as to what most people think — especially given their often-loathed nature when interacting with the marines directly.
Make the marines sign wacky contracts. Force Marines to pay for service at Medbay. Manipulate the new XO into signing over the USS Almayer to WY. Make a secret Xeno colony in your secret room. Annoy the marines so much that a Death Squad is sent in to retrieve you. The possibilities are endless. The only limit is your imagination and server rules.
I love a good sleazy Liason. Especially if they are familiar with Vim Croi, WY Psi Executive and personal enemy of Archibald Valerian Cartwright. She killed his cousin. Revenge must be taken.
My favorite part is getting side objectives from them, such as retrieving an egg, breaking into the saferoom on Chance’s, shit like that. The horror of hearing CO on W-Y comms after saying the job’s done though…
One of my best interactions was from a CL who got an antag objective to derail the op, so he got provost called and had me go all the way to the pred ship on Varadero. I actually managed to grab a caster and get back before evac, so I scored PMC contract and a ride out in his pod when hijack came.
