No matter how hard marines fight to get the advantage it always ends up being 30 plus xenos per round. Why was this introduced it completely upended the balance of the game with no community feedback.
yes this is a cope post

The fact this was just fucking rammed in full merge without even a TM is just fucking awful, The first round ended in something like 44+6 burrowed on hijack.
Registered on the forum to write - 40 xenos in 40 minutes of the game is not realy funny.
let’s punish new players more
make it 3 per burst but the capturing xeno needs to beat the marine at dance dance revolution in order to nest
If this is unironically not blatant evidence of balance being xeno coder favored, I don’t know what would be.
2 larvas/cap
Reasoning: “the poow xewo has to walk back to the hive instead of instantwy appeaw thewe now
”
Meanwhile the marines can get their guns fucked up in one click and also now have to carry additional non-ammo consumables just so they can continue to deal damage at all (long-term) without a click click click and for this they get: ???
This just solidified the near-zero-opportunity-cost meta of “just hand the cap to a runner” for +100% attrition swing for the xeno side because … ?
why worry man its more xenos for you to kill
in all honesty, regardless of if you win or lose you should be having fun
if you arent having fun you need to be doing something else. if your fun come from winning you need to take that energy and apply it somewhere itd be more useful in your life. trust me than. when I was new ive been there done that.
not saying its not bullshit or its unfun when you magdump rav#1 for them to fall back and to have rav#4 come up to attack you but still. theres some perspective for you man
cheers
tldr
xenos are currently basically impossible to balance because the high barrier to entry to play xeno means the average xeno player(that doesn’t die to the first guy with a shotgun) is more skilled than their marine counterpart (as well as being stronger due to 1:4 balancing)
xenos currently have a very high barrier to entry because the way the queue works and the shortage of respawns means you get generously one mistake during a round before you die and are stuck in queue hell, this is a terrible environment for learning and means most of the hive dies instantly and does nothing while the remaining players are left to basically carry the team on their shoulders
increasing the flow of xenos allows those new learning players to keep playing and actually having fun disproportionately, whereas the experienced players benefitting from the extra respawns seldom die in the first place.
this also means when you die as a marine!!! you might actually get to play xeno! instead of getting stuck in deadchat
most experienced players should like this change because it means they have more xenos to shoot instead of just butting heads with the same like 4 prime unkillable nolifers and instead get to skirmish with people closer to their skill level rather than them all getting instantly evaporated and stuck in queue hell
Hard agree. However I would prefer to shoot xenos for longer - not get overwhelmed and hijacked 40 minutes in.
WE’RE BACK TO 70;30 BABY FUCK YEAHHHH KILL EM ALL WE’RE BACK TO PEAK WOOOOOO (finally more bald xenos to shoot, albeit at the expense of arch nemesis Y coming back to life every 5 seconds)
in all seriousness I think Drathek ought to start seriously considering implementing the tackle resistance he mentioned. I think… it’s pretty clear the time has come for the cancer that is screech capping (epic mechanic btw) to finally be nerfed.
Everyone complains about it (unless you only play xeno), no one likes it happening to them (except for masochsits), isn’t this finally the opportunity to axe it and make the game more fun for everyone?
I’ve gotta play more before I send up official feedback though. Oh shit LV624 round, bye
I did try giving feedback before it was merged that this is what would happen as it is what was happening when we had two larva per burst before. Also xeno queue IS FAIR except for HUGGERS SKIPPING the queue, that is NOT fair, skilled players just meta it to have nonstop respawns as xenos while others do not get to play, that is why you do not get xeno respawn. It lead exactly to what I expected, few inexperienced players get captured and it is GG for marines as xeno numbers just doubled and what does it matter if they are not good xeno players just the amount of extra HP wins the game. FOB rework does not force early rush but this sadly does. Also where is the queen rework we were promissed?
So marines are punished because xeno’s can’t play game.
Oh yeah also forgot that xeno’s got a capping buff where they can drag dead corpses with larva in them.
I have a somewhat crazy idea, because from what I am hearing, Xeno players spend 20 years in Queue and Marines drop like flies. If this is still something that happens at current population, I propose that we increase the amount of xenomorphs but reduce their health pools so they die faster. Marines get their easier kill, Xenos spend less time in queue.
To state my biases outright, I have never played Xeno in the main round and am collecting my information from what others have said. Thoughts?
If you just cut xeno health pools by any significant margin, then you will encounter the issue where xenomorphs cannot survive merely charging out of cover to engage the marines, let alone then returning to cover after attacking.
Back to 70:30 just like God intended
back to 1h rounds like none intended
We do realize that the logic of "butting heads with the same like 4 prime unkillable nolifers and instead get to skirmish with people closer to their skill level " is completely nullified by the fact that the same “4 no lifer primes” will be back 5 minutes after they die right?
except they now also have extra fodder to tank hits for them lole
I give it a week or two max before revert/substantial nerf
That never occurred to me, but that makes sense now that I think about it.
