It used to be the case since it took like 20 minutes to burst back then. Thats why i already made a feedback about how you could require two hugs for to larva, but it takes double the time. risk reward etc.
I agree that xenos needed a buff and more xenos is better than making the unkillable xenos more unkillable, but there is a balance where marines donât crumble after pushing out of fob.
Maybe just the fact that marines should treat their lives better and not get capped means less suicidal 1 for 1 trading unga tactics and more chances for xenos to hold onto the battlefield.
The ratio for a good balance may be closer to 1.333 or 1.5 though.
edit: you could actually use the win/loss ratio of the most recent build to determine the idea ratio. Xenos winning more than 70%? lower til 1:1. Marines winning more than 30%? raise til 1:3 max
the offensive faction which we keep pressing more and more to be offensive should treat their lives better. the numerically superior faction should not trade 1-to-1 ![]()
the reason is: it was shit. it caused and is causing again super short rounds as all the kills you are nullified with two captures at once choke or fuck it in single screech you can loose the entire game. the numericly superior faction has much harder healing and logistics line that and mobility offsets their numbers. now xenos can easily become numericly supperior side with all other benefits. the thing that is bullshit is that the numbericly weaker side can trade TWO FOR ONE and still call it a win. if you loose two xenos to get one marine and it is still a win THEN something is wrong. for the numericly advantagious side 1 1 trades should be good, but 2 1 for the numericly smaller is crazy. Also without this 1 1 trade one cap for one kill was already bad for marines long term

no no, what I mean is they attempt to trade their lives for a xeno, leading in a 1 for 1 trade, not that they actually succeed in the attempted gambit - ah cmon you know what I mean
After playing a bunch I honestly like it, thereâs a lot more bugs to shoot and kill as marine (woohoo!!!) and most of the âextra xenosâ arenât very good at the game (due to being marine mains).
The robust xeno players feel more oppressive now though- Feels like xenos are more like marines now, where if you die you just come back without much hassle- Except marines can have their respawn privileges revoked (perma, outside of relatively rare foxtrot due to short-ish rounds) and xenos canât.
I mean, wasnât winrate something like 50-50 before this merge? Why would you rock the boat now, I didnât agree with lot of morrowâs decision balance wise, but on this one i do agree, he knew what he was doing when he removed 2 larvas per cap.
I know that marines had an above 50% when fob rework was a thing, so maybe we are just waiting for that and it all cancels out (50% of xenoes are gonna die to fob defences).
Double burst is fine as long as queen screech is taken out back and shot.

Instead most rounds will be sub 1 hour evacs, because the same prime queen and prime runners get 5 caps that leads to 10 larva in the span of 3 minutes. Oh and queen screech is here to stay!!! And runners can drag you far from any marines with queen screech stun!!!

all im saying is when I play a round and marines kill like 10 T3s and it literally doesnt change the round in the marines favor because there is 30+ xenos waiting for ovi its not fun at all.
Whats the point of even targeting T3s when the same primes that get killed gets dropped back in the game to continue their shit. Like what are marines supposed to do to counter this? I totally understand that marines wont win every round but It seems like its not even possible now
I have seen marine wins with this, all were sub 1h roundend, marines just pushed and xenos did not get a single cap to benefit from it, aka boring ass rounds. And those were the three marine wins with this change
yes queen screech has been the biggest CM issue for years and it prevents making the game more fun in more then one way
The developers seem to think marines are at their peak and have had it really easy lately.
Ignoring the fact that queen can just screech marines in a giant radius and runners can drag them far away from any marines in the span of a second. This has been a feature for all of CM13âs existence, and everyone keeps insisting that itâs necessary to maintain balance. Maybe for one larva burst, but for two larva burst this just makes queen screech overpowered.
Edit: five larva is one tier 3, so all it takes is 3 caps now.
Should mention that marines back then had techwebs and foxtrot giving 10 per marine. And HEAP when double burst was a thing. This counteracted double burst. But now thereâs none of that to counter double burst, and on top of that queen screech is still a thing and super busted!!!
Iâm a xeno main. This change will just make rounds unfun for both sides, unless queen screech isnât taken out back and shot like it should have been years ago.

Just a correction here. You need 5 larva per T3 slot. So two caps would be 2 T1s and 2 T2s, with a fifth larva being the T3 slot.
Better to wait and see before making judgements, itâs only been 1 day and in the past 24 hours marines have fucking stomped xenos on most rounds. I honestly donât even know why, besides the fact that xenos have skill issues themselves into just not capping.
One dayâs worth of rounds isnât really worth shit though, I think everyone ought to wait like a week at least or something.
Thing is, this has been pushed in while multiple marine nerfs have been in effect (most notoriously the god-awful hijack changes), mortar, CAS, etc. This is on top of a yearâs+ worth of updates since before it was changed to 1 larva per cap, and well this is just a disaster to be honest.
I have been saying that the removal of 2 bursts per cap was a mistake, and it still was, since CM has felt just weird balance wise since then. Now, itâs even worse, because marines are flat out weaker (individually, they are fineish, I specifically mean as a team overall) than they were a year ago. If this was pushed in with marine buffs TMâd or merged with it, Iâd actually like it, but it wasnât, and it feels like it wasnât thought through.
