2 larva per cap is bad for the game

Queen needs to be reworked before implementing 2 burst imo. Right now its not worth pusing into caves. If you fail to wipe hive you give too many free caps. I really dislike changes that deincitivize or punishes marines pushing.

Pre-two larva it was salvagable if you failed the cave push as xenos were equally low on xeno count as marines. Then the match revolved around comms control and possible nuke/King to resolve the stalemate. Since the two larva change i dont think I’ve seen xenos rely on pylon buffs/king to win, it is simply irrelevant now.

If you want to make 2 larva burst reasonable, make the extra burst tied to the hive core existing. Instead of immediatley getting the extra burst make it so the hive core keeps tally on the extra larva and slowly releases 1 larva every 3-5 minutes. This way you slow down the huge snowball effect that makes cave pushes unfeasable.

The truth is marines will adapt with time because marine players have a lot of room to improve

I feel like a lot of the issue is that with five minute burst timers, actually being able to react to xenos getting caps and play around it is hard.

Baldo PVTs can throw the round.

I’d feel a lot better about this change if it didn’t feel like “let’s just tweak a single number and everything will be fine.”

I think the point MasterHavoc is trying to make is that people simply don’t fill the slots from the ghost role. Even if it was announced, the gameplay of a lesser is so negligible that I doubt you would fill half of those slots. Hell, most foxtrot spawns aren’t even filled and those are whole ass not-ghost-roles.

Not sure if this is still in affect, but i don’t think I’d like this change. I like the asymmetrical nature of the game, marines being numerically superior to the xenos, but xenos being individually more impactful (Lest you find your foe to be Platinum Medal John Alpha Marine).

Despite what some others have said, it’s hard to believe that doubling the number of larvas the xenos get won’t drastically affect things.

It does make the hive core a lot more valuable though. So therefore… pushing is more of a win condition then it was before. Which means more aggressive play is the best strategy for victory instead of grinding out benos to death (which wont work nearly as well longterm).

In literally just a month, marines have gotten the BRUTE, a brand new FOB rework, multi-Z Almayer (albiet very, very early stages and requires bug fixing) and a huge buff to gun durability. That’s a shitload of new features in such a short span of time.
One look at thwomper’s roadmap and you see that marines are getting a lot more fancy tools in the coming months. VTOL was in its early stages last TM but it looked sick as hell.

Xenos have gotten pretty much jackshit in comparison. Bruiser is the only one that comes to mind, but that’s a pretty big rarity given new castes hasn’t happened since… well, years excluding King. Besides that? I can’t think of anything recent.

The brute was given at the removal of the breaching shotgun, which was arguably superior in several ways. I lean toward it being an overall nerf, especially for the fobbits.

Multi-Z Almayer is a change yes- but calling it a buff is goofy. If anything it just takes longer to get anywhere.

The FOB reworks is not out yet. Also arguably not a buff since it impacts Marine defensive ability.

I’d normally agree that Marines tend to be the majority focus of content updates but a whole new caste and doubling the amount of larva from bursts means that xenos are eating real good right now in terms of balance and it’s disingenuous to suggest otherwise.

I don’t know if it was the intention or not, but they did just say “What cool stuff” and not “What OP stuff”. And most of the stuff they did add is catogorized under “cool stuff” in my opinion.

You also have stuff like SHARP that came out as an alt grenadier.

Meanwhile, we have bruiser that nobody really knows anything about, Reaper which is in its 6th try not to get stale (impossible challange), and… Yeah.

Edit: I wanted to say Neos, but then i’d have to say marines get mechs, so eh.

They describe the larva burst as “cool stuff”. This is just a numbers buff and not new context.

They’ seem to be suggesting that Marines getting new content means that Xenos should be mechanically improved which is incredibly disingenuous.

Again. I agree that Marines tend to get new content more than Xenos. That being said, none of the recent new content has been an upgrade as far as the balance is concerned.

Why is everyone focusing on whether they are buffs or nerfs when I was asked to list cool stuff???

The point isnt whether they are buffs or nerfs, the point is that these things are cool as fuck. BRUTE is objectively cool as hell and the big boom is far cooler than the XM51. The FOB rework is orders of magnitude of cool above cadespam. The almayer additions is literally the coolest thing since sliced bread.
