Brig Grenade Throwing Strat

cmss13-ss13
I posted this meme earlier as a joke, but now I am legitimately curious what the optimal strat would be to kill MPs should you manage to summon two to the brig and somehow bypass the explosive safety.

For the purposes of this excercise:

  • Assume you ONLY have the two grenades in a satchel. No other weaponry exists on your person.
  • The MPs will NOT call for backup.
  • The MPs are UNARMORED.
  • The grenades have a blast radius of 6 tiles. (I realize this is isn’t an OB nade, but 16 tile radius nades are unfair given the tight environment.)
  • After priming the grenades. They will explode in 3 seconds.
  • You CAN set up traps.
  • MPs can HEAR you pull the pin.
  • The MPs want to LIVE. They will attempt to run away from the explosives.
  • You want the MPs either UNCONSCIOUS or DEAD, but preferably the latter.
  • You are NOT concerned for your own survival.

Bonus factors if you’re up for it:

  • You CANNOT prime the grenade before the MPs enter the brig. They must be right there in the brig with you, in full earshot and eyeshot of you priming the nade.
  • The MPs are NOT dumb and will notice traps like welding tanks placed near the brig entrance.
    Discuss.

Just do what I did and use a M2C. Makes all the MPs fall down.

Sadly, req ran out of M2Cs after a dude took all of them to shoot down the req line.

You cannot prime nades on Almayer unless it’s red alert/hijack. Use fuel tanks instead.

I did think about that, hence the line, “somehow bypass the explosive safety.”

Do the good old positioning like 2 fueltanks juuust behind where the MPs will stand when talking to you, one quick shot will to the trick

If the MPs actually fall for that, they deserve what’s coming.

“The MPs are unarmored” disinformation by a secret MP agent. MPs will always be wearing armor because the law mandates the armor slowdown as a punishment for their sin (being MPs)

Unsurprisingly, people in this server tend to be a little less robust than in other servers, mainly coused by how streamlined and easy most stuff is. So actually a real chance that the MPs will simply not expect you to actually do that shit.

One time i was playing warden, i was walking around the ship when a marine shot and decapped me, causing a shitstorm and like 5 total deaths untill Asleep
I just did not expect anyone to actually do that, similar how i would not expect someone to actually use the tanks like that

Fair point. All right, how about I make a bonus point section where I include more factors that could hamper one’s ability to grief the brig bring justice, but that could feasibly not be an issue in an actual game of CM?

trigger both and keep them in your bag and just run up to the mps

Sadly, this doesn’t work anymore. I tried it in a private server, the primed nade just becomes massive and will never fit inside any container.

so just keep em in yo hands

Okay, this one is going in the bonus section. I did not expect the answer to be THAT simple lmao.

By the way, they did have their armor, but it was looted (by you), hence part of the reason why they’re coming to the brig.

also the benefit of ot nades isn’t that they have a big blast is that they will gib you and anybody on an adjacent tile (if max cap m15 nade) which means the mp can’t be revived and you can’t be revived and punished for your actions (at least not ic)

you are all missing the EASIEST THING, as the MPs are coming in, prime and toss training grenades, the MPs will see the grenades, point and *laugh.

Then you need to say something like “IM GOING TO RUN AT YOU WITH ANOTHER GRENADE”
prime your maxcap and run at them, they would NEVER expect it!

it’s a foolproof strat

Well, yes, in general people won’t expect others to break the rules.
