Marines will be marines, xenomains will infiltrate and ruin the fun just so they can go back to capping private baldie mcbald face for the 50th time.
during the PCtide when I adminned on an ss14 server (for about 3 months) there were 100+ people on the server, when we usually only had about 50 max on a good day. The days after the PCtide (about 2 days) there were times we had 100+ people on the server, with so many ahelps going through I couldn’t deal with the bwoink sounds. I cannot imagine what handling 300 people would be like in an event where it’s meant to be peaceful and people have guns, who are basically focused on killing for that sweet sweet dopamine. That would be hell on earth.

at this point there would have to be an event deputy role for trusted individuals but im the only 120+ iq individual in the community so only i can come up with solutions to these things

There were two people we “recruited” during the PCtide, they turned out to be good enough that we kept them on the staff team lol
But I don’t think adminning someone for one round for one event is a good idea. Even if they have lowered permissions. Power corrupts and greed takes over.

If they can only read what the ahelp says & relay to the admins - which the ahelps show up in their chat log - whats the reason for them? I don’t get it if they can’t really do anything administrative wise.

Ron Fields / Grub Dunkers was playing a Staff Officer and was roleplaying misfiring the OB ontop of the civilians, his last radio message I saw was “I spilled burger juice on the console” and then he was taken out by the admin hitsquad after the OB landed ontop of like 15 players, after that some minor shootouts started happening and then one of the COs/XOs announced total civilian death.
Also there were zombies in the round before the OB hit and fucked everything up, zombie roleplay devolves quite quickly without proper means to permanently stop zombies it just turns into a Whiskey Outpost against enemies that get up after being shot.
I believe that there can be roleplay with zombies, but whatever roleplay was planned got sabotaged with the OB and command.

ngl I was pretty excited to do some RP on LV-759, it’s such a cool urban map. The OB and zombie shit was super lame and saddened me. I got maybe 2 minutes of checkpoint RP before everything went to shit.

With 320 players, even 1 or 2 that do stupid shit (IE ob the civvies) can basically ruined the op and decrease the standard of roleplay

Not gonna lie. If there is a CM event that sounds like cool Civilian/CLF RP. There is a 90% chance that it’s Zombies.
RP Events that aren’t on the RP server are going to be Zombies. I no longer am excited for the RP events anymore tbh because of it.

I don’t remember who was in it besides Jane and Bobby, but it was headed by a dude who hadn’t played CM in like 3 years and whose last comment in the discord was like 2 years before. It was DOA and wouldn’t have done anything anyways if he was active.

To be fair, LTNTS the event creator did gather feedback about it after and said:
"I have heard you loud and clear - fuck zombies.
We’re currently fully replanning the entire event to be more detailed, and (hopefully) we may use an edited Hybrisa map for ease of setup.
I’m happy to take any recommendations and constructive criticisim in my DMs to improve the next run."

If you join CM event round and expect anything other than mass OBs on almayer, zombies or some overpowered ERT perma killing everyone in CIC then you are on the wrong server.
