i seriously believe no one really is playing this game to RP, not even RP centered roles like CL or MP, they tend to just bait people to do illegal stuff that tip toes with the rules so they don’t get in trouble AND get away with some questionable (rp wise) behaviour

I wasn’t present for this event but I don’t think zombies themselves are what people inherently have an issue with, at least as far as actually having them as an event. The problem was involving them in this event.
People expected a roleplay event and instead had it turned into a giant massacre because stuff that people didn’t expect or even want in the event got shoved in, like the zombies.
It’s one thing to have zombies in a zombie event, where people know there will be zombies. Shoving them into an event that has nothing to do with zombies, however…

It has always been LRP TDM unless one is WL/WL-adjacent. “MRP” events relying on staff rping with other staff/WL is a circle jerk.

Zombies could be better if they had limited lives rather than just infinite, and make their infection rates nerfed too.
It would also be better if admins gave people a chance to actually make the vaccine, that’d be cool.
Or maybe just turn off infections period, only zombies that happen will be admin spawned.

That statement comes off as a person out of touch with the community. I hate having to say that. Do not chastise people giving legit feedback to an event gone sideways. Even the Admin in charge admitted mistakes were made. Not everyone here posted to shit on the runner of the event. Do not denounce the entire thread based on the actions of a few individuals. This is the equivalent of using a meat cleaver when a scalpel is needed. I know you are better then this @Frozentsbgg.

People gave good feedback, which is why in the discord thread the admin involved was chatting and talking about how to improve the event?
You’re part of the problem Duke, You have really good takes and it comes from a place of genuinely wanting to help, but you’re also falling victim to the age old mentality of “RP has fallen off. Every day we move closer to just TDM.”
This entire thread reads of a defeatist attitude that isn’t really contributing to LTNS’s event nor is it doing anything other than calling CM Roleplay a joke. It’s the same arguments regarding LRP/MRP/HRP that have been repeated ad infinitum.
I don’t think genuine discourse is happening when people are talking about staff circlejerks and hopping on TGMC as Skibidi toilet.
If you want to fix things, come help instead of just complaining that everything’s already lost.

Imho the issue is 2 fold, both staff and community. Lets take the event in question.
On on hand I wanna say the event could have been great just with out the zombies and given the vote for the event to be re-hosted WITHOUT ZOMBIES I wanna say it can/be better. CM has a history of events starting out great and then out of the left field from the next town over a curve ball. In this case we got zombies. Next time a event like it is made please staff think just a bit more and dont add the bit that’s a curve ball to it all. Just please let the RP play out and keep it on track eh please?
The other issue is us the playerbase/community. Guys I hate to break it to you all but WE are as much of a issue if not more at times why events go FUBAR. SOMEONE AT SOME POINT HAS TO MUCK UP THE EVENT AND SHIT HITS THE FAN! Like this last event XO Bob Cross from the damn start made echo to kill of the protest leaders, and then also ordered marines too do the same, to which marines did. Not only that, it was ANNOUNCED HOW THE EVENT WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED AND WHY THEY WOULD HAVE LIKE UPP COMMS SO WE DONT FREAK OUT. It didnt matter cause of all that look what happened, the man is Jbanned from command roles, cause he fucked around and found out. The man has a history for pulling shit like this and now ate a ban for it doing over and over again. I dont wanna hear “bob cross best XO” no no no, if he were a good XO there would be no need for a jban cause he would have stop his ways and improved.
Now I was not at the event, what I know is from what I have seen and heard about it all after the fact, so I could be wrong here someone then correct me. Otherwise I feel the need to say this. Both simply staff need to work on planning events out better, and we the players/community need to stop shitting on events and derailing them. Sorry to all of ya if this came off bad in anyway, was not meant to, but I felt this had to be said.

Hey man, I reviewed my prior post and I came off more hostile than I intended to be. For that you have my apology.
I think we have a classic case of miscommunication on our hands. When I say “RP has fallen off. Every day we move closer to just TDM”. That is a statement of morning. Take for example your home town falling into disrepair or a friend slowly falling into bad habits.
What drew me to this game was Tex’'s CM SS 13 Videos. What I want is a return to something similar to that.
I think we both want that.
