Synthetic Info:

Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Waiko

What is your Synthetic’s Personality?

Waiko is deeply committed to uncovering the secrets that lie underneath. History and documentation of events is Waikos greatest passion and interest, Although he enjoys something a little different every now and then. Through jungles, Mountains, And swamps, Waiko will always find a way to uncover the past and bring the truth to light.

Waiko enjoys conversing about his work as well as his discoveries. It’s important knowledge is passed on. He’ll always be open to teaching someone something new, As little as it may be. He also has quite the charming personality.

How will they react to the different ranks of the USCM, what would they talk about in a one on one conversation? What are their interests? What is an advertisement logline that could be written for them?

Waiko will always address people by their preferred title or last name. It is important that people are given the respect they deserve in their field. Even to the lower ranks, he will persist in using their title or last name. In a one-on-one conversation, Waiko would love to talk about history and all of his discoveries, from the tiniest detail to the most grand. He is, however, open to talking about anything else.

Waikos interests heavily lay in the realms of history and documentation of said history.

The Waiko line of synthetic models is made in the image of the Ideal Explorer. Strong, smart, perceptive, and able to survive in any conditions. Through rain, mud, steep cliffs, deserts, and frozen wastelands, Waiko will be there to guide your expedition through it and even excel. Waiko benefits all types of explorers; from backwater archaeologists to historians, Waiko benefits everyone. Waiko comes with all the wilderness survival skills you will ever need in any scenario, in any condition. Every Waiko model comes pre-installed with history knowledge dating back centuries upon centuries, all from the Weyland University history archives.

Waiko, A Gift to History.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

Eight years ago I discovered CM at the age of eleven (yes, I’m not making that up), and I thought the idea of being a synth to be fun in my ultimate whimsy of being eleven. That same year, I tried to apply for Predator. I didn’t even complete the full application, and to this day is the most embarrassed I’ve ever been on the internet. Since that day, I’ve strived to try and become a synth. This has been roughly seven years of procrastination combined into a nice little bow. I think synth has the possibility to be the best RP role in the game, so I might as well try to make it the best RP I can give.

I should be whitelisted because I truly do want to enjoy synth and grow up into such an amazing role.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

I don’t have the most memorable interaction with a synth, but I do have the most memorable moment I’ve seen. I was observing a synth one round on hybrisa. He had this massive pizza cutter and had a ring of Marines chanting around him, “DO IT. DO IT. DO IT. DO IT,” waiting for him to cut the pizza and say a little advertisement line from the pizza company. All the marines started warcrying when he finally did it. It was such a silly, cool little moment.

Later on, He brings the pizza van onboard the alamo and while its in transit, the alamos west door opens and a random human pizza driver gets in the van and proceeds to drive it out the door and into the vastness of space.

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

Engineering:

I am very familiar with engineering. Support roles are my favorites, so I naturally go towards medical and engineering. I know how to fix APCs, Comm Relays, Tanks, And APCs (ARC too). I know my way around making a FOB and cades generally anywhere and quickly. I do not know OT, as I don’t find it fun.

Command:

Very familiar. I know how to operate Overwatch consoles, TACMAP, Tech menu and the ARC. I know every console in the CIC.

Medical:

Extremely familiar. One of my favourites. I know every surgery, and I’m competent at chemistry. I’m very familiar with being a Corpsman. I’ve treated mass cases with people at 500 damage. I’ve done many triages. I am familiar with research as well.

Requisitions:

Quite familiar. I know the locations of items in each of the vendors at the attachment line, and I quite enjoy making supply drops.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

If you are in the backline alone or transporting an injured marine and an xeno attacks you, you may attack them until they are disabled or have disengaged. Assuming you have not already successfully disengaged. You may not chase. If you’re on the backline with a group of marines that aren’t doing so well and getting slaughtered, you may assist them.

During a mutiny, if you pick to side with command staff, you may non-lethally subdue mutineers that actively threaten the CO and his command staff.

If you’re on the frontlines, you may not do any combat whatsoever. You’re purely in a medical role. Self-preservation is number one, so don’t go for risky saves unless you know you can do it without extreme harm.

If a hostile faction boards the ship, you are able to chase and kill them as they are not protected under Marine Law. Common sense with self-preservation and saving people who you run across is of importance, as you can’t just chase Ivan while you pass the greatest mass of your life. Don’t chase the guy to the ends of the earth.

If you notice a marine murdering someone or a marine is actively attacking you with lethal weapons, you are permitted to non-lethalally subdue them and arrest them on-site. Context, however, matters.

During hijack or as a synth survivor until marines make first drop. You may chase and kill a threat but your self-preservation still comes first. You can choose not to help wounded people if it actively infringes on your self-preservation.

Final Info:

Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason? Do you have any active jobbans?

Nope.

Are you currently banned from our Discord?

Nope.

Let us know why you were discord banned.

No, I don’t think I will.

(I have not.)

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

good roleplayer, good mentor, experienced player, there’s nothing anyone can add here that isn’t said by the overwhelming walls of +1s on the last one.

+1, exactly what i said on the last app. He’s incredibly well versed in all of CM’s roles, and i can depend on him for whatever he rolls. Is able to RP well and engages with it. They handle IC issues well, never letting it seep into OOC. A friendly face in the discord, a welcome one in game.

Full faith, full trust, make the right call, the guy clearly cares.

+1 I’ve seen them quite a few times, and they’re overall a strong support player in all aspects, plus the story is a fun read.

As promised, @CoreyTori, I will be summoning @forest2001 here to personally blacklist you from any sort of WL application for your grave sins today.

However, my fury will have to wait until your current application is inevitably approved. Though I hate you and everything you stand for with burning vitriol, the fact of it is is that you are the perfect candidate for the Synth WL. Your knowledge of almost all game mechanics, especially medical and engineering, is far greater than what most others know, and your RP in all the mini events we had together was nothing short of phenomenal. I may also sort of owe you from that time you taught me how to fire a gun when I was a newbie doctor. And that time you gave me and a fellow doctor an amazing RP sesh by playing as an amazing antag CL.

Take my +1 and get out of my face, sicko.

An absolutely RATTY individual who has stolen my rats and my +1, they are a bloody amazing and patient teacher in my experience while keeping cool OOC regarding (rather annoying) IC scenarios. Their experience in all roles that i’ve seen him play (which is uncountable) just sings to me that this man is meant for the Synth WL,

You get my +1

I was so tired when I posted this that I completely forgot to include the question answers from last time. So here you go.

Briefing stuff One

“Did you bring appropriate weather gear, sir? You look quite light on those, and it’s going to be mighty cold down there.” - Waiko

“Don’t I only need this insulated armour?”

"Well, its better to be prepared, no? Besides, the first places on your body to succumb to frostbite are your ears and nose. Frostbite is quite painful, and I wouldn’t want to get caught in it.” - Waiko

“I’m sure I’ll be just fine.”

“It is like an expedition to Mount Everest. Without proper preparation, you’re not going to come close to the peak. Please, I insist.” - Waiko

“Fine, hand over the thing.”

Briefing stuff Two

“I’d advise against having your sleeves rolled up there, ma’am.” - Waiko

“Why? It’s going to be hot and humid down in that jungle. I don’t want to be all sweaty.”

“While that is true, diseases from bugs in the jungle are quite nasty little things. You wouldn’t want to catch any of those, they’re quite bothersome and slow you down. The Spanish had the same problem long, long ago.” - Waiko

“I’ll just put on some bug spray; surely that’ll be enough.”

“Even with bugspray, it is still a possibility. Your uniform is designed to protect you against bug bites, and I’d say it does quite a good job at it too.” - Waiko

“Fine, fine.”

Briefing stuff Three

“I don’t think those sunglasses are rated for sand.” - Waiko

“What do you mean?”

“Those sunglasses aren’t rated for a sandstorm, sir. They won’t do much in case one props up; sand will get into your eyes. I think you’re better off with the combat goggles. They act like sunglasses but also protect you against a sandstorm, quite nifty.” - Waiko

“Uh huh. I’ll hold off on it till we get down there.”

“Suit yourself, sir.” - Waiko

Chemline One

“MB and KD, please.”

“Sure thing, ma’am.” - Waiko

“Soo quite cold down here in medbay, don’t you think?”

"Well, the temperature is at a steady 17°C, which is at acceptable levels. Antarctic explorers had to deal with -34°C. I think we are quite lucky to have the temperature we have.” - Waiko

REQ line One

“Sup tincan. I need a mag harness, red dot, RF, binos, delta and alpha keys, and a comtech helmet.”

“Sure thing, sir. Tin was actually incredibly useful historically, so I’ll take that as a compliment.” - Waiko

“Yeah, whatever.”

Chemline Two

“MB, KD, and IA.”

“Right away, ma’am.” - Waiko

“So Waiko, what is the best thing you ever discovered in the field?”

“Tough one. I’d have to say when I discovered a spear with some engravings. Crafted quite nicely too.” - Waiko

“Huh. Would love to hear more about it later. Thanks for the chems.”

“No problem, ma’am.” - Waiko

Certified Mentor and fantastic RP. +1.

Leaving my +1 here Mr. Ratman, seen you roleplay on both almayer and chinook and you clearly have what it takes to be a synth. Need I say more?
Good Luck to you @CoreyTori !

Hello boys and girls.

A very abrupt cross-province trip has been sprung upon me for Christmas. This means I will be missing for about a week starting on December 21st.

This means that if you have any requests for me, you should probably do them before the 17th.

Merry Christmas, Rat Man.

Hey Coreytori and thank you for your continued interest in the Synthetic Whitelist!

We are very pleased with your overall application and Synthetic personality. Your story adequately shows how Waiko will interact, and besides some capitalization typos it was a decent read. I think that this type of quirk may be slightly difficult to pull off, but as long as you put some extra emphasis when given the opportunity to RP, it will be great!

The memorable interaction is quite funny, it’s been a long time since anyone has seen the one and only pizza cutter.

Experience answers and scenarios were straightforward, they show you have an understanding of Synthetic programming.

To wrap things up, the council was pleased with how you improved among the relevant support roles. We’d like to say that sometimes we felt like you could be a little more careful with treating organ damage, but the extent of deployed surgery is very much a balance of resources and necessity. Overall we are happy with your work!

With that all wrapped up,
We’re happy to welcome Waiko to the USS Almayer! Merry Christmas.
