Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Jericho

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

At the half-way point of the 22nd Century, following unexplained disasters and failures in colonisation missions targeting Earth-like ‘Life-Viable’ planets, Weyland-Yutani restarts its drive to terraform planets dismissed decades ago using the newly improved ‘Weyland Processor’.

However, in their push to colonise the inhospitable, an old problem is rediscovered. Extreme heatwaves, near-freezing tempratures, typhoons, ion storms, sandstorms and mass flooding can delay flights and knock shuttles off course endangering the lives of valued company executives. Personal Protection Officers can die, starve, be injured in disaster, lose their composure or get lost in the wilderness.

‘Jericho’ is the solution.

He is armed, but only in the latest science-backed guidance and protocols for survival in varieties of hostile planetary terrain. He is calm at all times, objective-focused and thinks many steps ahead. Following extensive interviews with industry experts, additional attention was given to Jericho’s personality and behavioural programming to ensure he will naturally blend into an Executive’s entourage to avoid distressing those less comfortable with Synthetics.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

Jericho is a friendly, calculated Synthetic in corporate attire. He makes smalltalk, remembers names, family updates, small events briefly mentioned in an effort to build goodwill and foster relationships as a show of care plus a healthy amount of corporate jargon when appropriate to show he’s “part of the company”. He nods to the company logo in the reception area, toasts correctly and sincerely congratulates someone on their promotion. He aims to be “one of the team”, at a glance.

In times of crisis, the friendly demeanor shifts away to be replaced with a far more assertive personality. He aims to prevent panic, state the optimal plan in digestable terms and keep morale high to ensure the survival and safety of all involved.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

Officers: Jericho would exude polished, supportive professionalism. Respect is shown, rank is always acknowledged, work is completed to what is requested and above. Jericho understands that making himself useful and “part of the team” is important to ensure the safety of all personnel and the completion of the task at hand. Depending on the officer, compliments and small-talk may be exchanged, or it might be a purely business-first interaction. Jericho is adaptive.

Enlisted: Jericho is jovial and caring in an attempt to build camraderie between himself and the Marines, especially due to the difficulties of overcoming his corporate-sanitised perception. He knows not being seen as too “Corporate” is important to build long-term trust with Marines. He engages with banter, pays his compliments and focuses on avoiding being seen as too sterile. In crisis situations, their trust could be the difference between everyone’s survival or demise.

Civilians: Jericho is a friendly face, deeply respectful and not dismissive of anyone. Everyone has a part to play and he understands that. He thanks the cleaner, listens to stories. In comparison to enlisted Marines, there is less ‘banter’ and more of a warm appreciation for their work and efforts. Weyland-Yutani Corporate Personnel are treated with respect equivalent to officers, rank is always acknowledged and their seniority is respected. Corporate Personnel from other companies are respected and acknowledged, but efforts are made to keep things business-first to avoid letting slip any company information entrusted to him. Weyland-Yutani personnel appreciate a more friendly approach.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

First, what got me to consider the Synthetic whitelist beyond just my appreciation for support roles is recently re-watching the movies with my friends. I really enjoyed the variety and presentation of the synthetics and just thought to be one myself! The idea of someone that is trying their best to be human but underneath it all, being human is ultimately “inefficient” to their motives personally interests me. The dynamic of Synthetic-Human is always an interesting consideration in the movies, and something I’d personally be interested to engage with in RP and it’s not a roleplay opportunity you can really explore otherwise.

Second, I love support roles, I love a supporting playstyle in every game I’ve ever touched. Synth is the ultimate combination of that, an ASO with a different place in the universe.

Third, I’ve always enjoyed my small interactions with Synthetics throughout my time in CM13, usually whenever I can catch them in-between building or operating on someone and I’d love to contribute to other people’s positive experiences.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

I’ll be honest that one “favourite” memory doesn’t come to mind. I’ve always enjoyed small interactions and conversations with Synthetics but I feel like there’s not been many Synthetics around in the last few months. I have positive memories of small conversations and enjoying the personalities of Finn, Malcolm, Owain, Irene, Athena, the one Australian outback-like Synthetic (so sorry for forgetting their name)

If I had to pick, I’ve enjoyed a few rounds recently surviving as Doctor Nelson Mercy with Owain, when we’d eat lunch and talk with the CL aboard the Almayer.

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?

Engineering

I’d say I’m fairly familiar with planetside Engineering. I can build barricades, I know where to and where not to build them. I know to wire them, I know to build foldables, I’m good at conserving resources and scavenging for more. I’ve not played much (if any, from memory) shipside Engineering, but I am familiar with building cameras and televisions as well as loading the orbital cannon.

Command

I’d say I’m extremely familiar, and am able to operate the consoles to their full extent: supply drops, OB, moving people from squad to squad.

Medical

I’d say I’m very familiar with medical both shipside and planetside, I am capable of triage and dealing with mass casualty situations on my own. I know how to remove larva, I know good practice with surgeries and planetside first-aid.

Requsitions

I’d say I’m very familiar with Requsitions, I can man the line, prepare supply drops and keep in touch with squads and specialists asking for ammo.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

Synthetics can perform combat only to the extent to that it defends themselves or friendlies around them.

  1. It is me + two Marines, one is dead and the other freshly revived. A lurker pounces the freshly revived Marine. I can move to the pounced Marine, shake them and pull them into cover. If the Lurker persists and doesn’t cycle out, I can attack it until it backs off to safeguard the revived Marine.

  2. On an active front, you can pull back and shake stunned Marines as long as it poses no risk to your own safety. Self Preservation takes priority on an active front.

  3. During a mutiny, if I side with the command staff I could attempt to non-lethally subdue any mutineers.

  4. While reviving a Marine on an active front, I could kill a facehugger if it attempted to hug the Marine I was reviving.

  5. During hijack, I could chase an isolated threat if necessary as a strong deterrent should they be repeatedly harassing me but my personal self preservation always comes first.

Final Info:

Have you been banned in the last month?

No

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

I don’t have consistent times of day that I play, sometimes it’s early EU Morning, sometimes it’s EU Evening. If that is an issue then I’m very open to organising times to play where someone is around to observe me. I can be reached on the forums or on discord

to admins who know me this might seem like a -1 but trust me guys, this guy is actually good at what he does. top tier fragger and somehow stayed normal in the few antics of mine he got caught up in

Very knowledgable and immensely helpful person. Seeing Sal as either command, SL or in any supporting role is a big morale boost to me and I’m sure many others. Excells in both the fragging side, the support side and most importantly imo the RP and soul side of the game.

+1 but I will be sad to lose his command/SL expertise when he is playing synth!
