Description of the incident:
First of all, Apologies for not including a round ID, as i was not provided with one, nor i can even access the game since Nessie has permabanned me.
The enforcement action taken against me, is a permaban for “Metacomms”
To explain my case, I’m part of few other discords/side-cords whatever you want to call them, Medicord, yadayada, and one of those discords, is Echo.
I’d want to stress, that you may remember an issue in the past, where a player had a crashout in-game, there was an issue/harassment, with a CO that round, That’s something I don’t approve of, nor the resolution of the battlefield executions rulings in that case, but that’s just my opinion and beyond the scope here, what’s important is that in said round, i was not even part of, as i was not playing. - This will come of interest later.
Both Forest and Frozen joined and been on the Echo discord for.. many months by now? since said incident with that player, that, has also been kicked off, both from the discord, and banned in-game. (At which both things are beyond me, or my decisions, as i held no influence on such). Forest and Frozen joined as they were interested in making Echo an official sub-cord with the focus of it being to help train new players and also be a place for players to group up if they were interested in playing with others who wanted high squad coordination gameplay. Irvine, the current player leading the discord, was even endorsed by Thwomper to my understanding.
In recent times, there’s been a total of 3 flagups, if i’m not mistaken i have joined merely 2 operations with the other members of Echo.
- ( Said flagups, are announced, publicly to see to any member of the discord, as even both hosts, Frozen and Forest are able to see )
You can also see in this screenshot above, that in pretty much a year or so, there’s only been 3 recent flag-ups, so Echo was inactive for at the very minimum, 8 months.
Most, if not all players were playing the game on their own, with the occasional meeting each other’s in-game, greeting each other’s in-game and such and then going their own ways. The fact i been playing mostly alone, or just with other friends i made in-game, or even other mentors also backs this up, you can go look at any of my rounds, logs, whatever you need.
Anyway, In said rounds where flag-ups ocurred, i only participated in two, this being:
[1] - I rolled corpsman, and my entire round was dedicated to heal all and any dead marines at the front, non-stop. Basically, did what any other corpsman was doing at the front, independent of what other members of Echo were doing, aswell as Saffi, that was also part of Echo and also playing Corpsman. (She even stole top revives fun fact from me that round).
[2] - In this second round, i rolled Rifleman, we got tasked to set/reinforce comms, and once done, cade and reinforce hydro. I literally, spent the full entirety of that round, with wirecutters in my hand, cutting down fences in LV, just to assist in our task of reinforcing both locations, and bring as many metal possible to our engineer. That’s literally, my entire round. The only ever fight i have even attempted to join, is just to scout slightly around nexus, or try to find someone from our squad being assaulted by xenos while alone. There was radio chatter to back this up, so i never gained such information from any metacomm methods, and the fact that i wasn’t even able to find their exact location, as they got capped. I think at best, i was able to miss some rounds at a runner around nexus earlier, before deciding to not stick around on my own to not get jumped and/or capped alone.
In both rounds, as with many way way in the past, we are not in voice chat, we are not talking outside of the game to give information, we are using the ingame radios to communicate, in most cases, you can go through any rounds, how many times we may have died, get lost, lost people within the group, maybe someone got capped, and nobody has any idea, nor we can even locate them if they don’t yell a location in radio. We are doing teamwork together, ingame, as any other squad may do, the only difference is that we grouped up on the same squad, which is a mechanic within the game, and to my knowledge, it’s not against the rules to form, or be part of echo, or ask for it to be formed. I have never ever done anything wrong if it was denied, i go with whatever job i have rolled for, and do my own thing, or whatever command requests of me with no issues.
At the week of my ban, i wasn’t even playing the game, that entire week, i haven’t played a single round if i’m not mistaken.
Simply been playing other games, chilling with friends and whatnot, while all the MultiZ and other PR’s are being tested and such, so i have not even joined any further flagups with other echo members.
I have also played with other friends, mentors, and people from CM, in the same way i do when i play with people from Echo.
We just agree to join the next round, team up, and roll with our shenanigans in-game, without metacomms.
Many rounds i have joined with Ryan and other friends, to try doing mortar frontline, m56d team, HPR group shenanigans, try different builds, work together and teamwork in-game.
That said, and from what i understood, and others have confirmed with the hosts (as seen in the picture above), Nessie decided to randomly join the Echo discord, by her own petition to the Hosts, they shared a link to the discord to Nessie, but from my understanding she was kicked out of it, as she was not welcomed there. That’s not my decision whatsoever, but from what i know, there may be some differences with some players, or allegations made against some of the players, to which, i want to add.
This is an old report, from a ruling/note i have contested in the past, given by Nessie. She discussed in ahelps with me about the ruling, asking why i didn’t follow said order etc, all normal there, she was respectful enough, she answered questions when asked, cited the rules, and gave her opinion and reasoning at the moment of the incident.
Now, fast forward past the report being done and accepted, her behaviour in ahelps with me, has drastically changed
I was mentoring a new doctor player shipside, and at some point took them to the second floor, to show him where to put the fallen soldiers dogtags etc to answer his doubts about it, When someone, not hostile, a survivor if i remember, welderbombed the area nearby, nearly killing me and the new player. When explaining the situation in an ahelp, i was met with this:
This type of answers, seemed quite rude, whatever, i didn’t gave it much importance, as i don’t really need to interact with staff besides what’s strictly needed, but her behaviour was completely rude and different from before.
Anyway, back to Nessie joining the Echo discord, and her departure or being kicked out of it, Me, and some other players, (Irvine, Saffi, Alexei and Diaz) that were present on the discord, were permabanned, all under the same rule. “Metacomms”, while i’m not making a report in their names, i want to stress out that they banned a bunch of players that seemed to be active lately, and/or joined said rounds, even if no metacomms took place.
Reached to them personally, to ask for information and clarification of why the sudden ban for the supposed “metacomms”, and or any proof, just to be met with rhetorical questions to my own questions. You think you were banned for something “recently”? and such, instead of providing with any explanation or proof.
And lastly..
Refusing to answer to anything else further this point, while also sending me this copy-pasted message, that she send to other players as well.
Said message, doesn’t even make sense to me, “We believed YOU had learned from past incidents” hmm… I wasn’t part of any incidents. “This is the last explanation you’ll receive about your ban” but.. i’m still yet to receive an explanation for it. As i have not used metacomms in-game. Now, if we go back to the first point of this post/report, now this sentence could made sense if i was involved with said round/issue that happened in the past, but i was not even playing said round, so why even copy-paste said message to me aswell.
Furthermore, conversation with another of the involved players, which they shared and allowed to be added in this report for further clarification
In this conversation, Nessie states that she was investigating, and she wanted to join the discord server to see what’s going on with her own eyes, so.. There’s no proof of any metacomm, just an investigation and likely allegations, joined the server, got kicked, decided to ban people for metacomms.. Right. So with all said, i believe Nessie just acted in Malicious Intent/Personal grudge, or whatever reason there is from her, without any proof whatsoever, as-well as refusing to answer to the players, nor provide any evidence.
- [Small Edit] This is likely the only edit i’m gonna do, but I was also just recently informed, that Nessie was personally invited back to the server with the intent to give her full admin privileges to conduct an investigation later on after it was revealed she originally joined to conduct an investigation which was unknown at the time. She refused to rejoin and examine any audit logs for any evidence of metacomms - the audit logs are empty but he point is she refused to actual verify her claims.
If there’s an issue with this report, do let me know, I would love to hear back from anyone about the issue, or the host’s if possible, though it’s been unsuccessful so far.
