Synthetic Info:

Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Tony

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

Tony is a model that was designed for Weyland-Yutani’s frontier colonies, where highly educated specialists are not seen very often. Tony’s been specialised with deep knowledge of almost all the machinery put to use in said colonies, also equipped with the handiness to work and repair them when needed. The familiar attitude he carries also helped to ease the stress amongst colonists, stemming from the remote and isolating nature of such frontier colonies. This innate technical talent of the model was also highly sought after in the USCM as the technical complexity of newer weapon systems started to rapidly increase during arms races with other large factions, this being even more of a problem on the field where you couldn’t safely station your technical experts. And so the USCM purchased a license for Weyland-Yutani to start producing synthetics for the USCM. One of the first deployments being in mechanised units during Operation Canton.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

Tony’s personality is reminiscent of a 50s Italian-American greaser, sort of the neighbourhood wiseguy. There’s a lot of small talk about a person’s family, their hobbies or their past as if he’s known everybody he meets for a long time already, even if they’ve just seen each other for the first time. Some of which can be overbearing to some at times. His mannerism is confident but also quite charismatic, spoken with the distinctive slang from the time period.

When the situation allows, he also tends to verbally mess around with other enlisted personnel, usually in the form of deadpan humor or trying to pull someone’s leg.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

There wouldn’t be much difference between interactions with enlisted and civilians, both are addressed very casually with the kind of neighbourly familiarity you’d know from the Italian-American Hollywood films/soap operas. Most of them are pals, buddies or slicks even if they’ve just met them for the first time. W-Y personnel like the CL are the more familiar old friends with whom they really ought to catch up with sometime again, some small bits of nostalgia added in there about their good old times on the frontier colonies.

Higher-ranked execs or USCM officers are usually just “boss” or “chief”, a lot less small talk with them, as it usually just ends up in receiving orders or doing the things that they want of Tony. They are, after all, his bosses. You don’t banter around with them too much, or at least don’t initiate it.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

I love to play support roles. Be it medical, engineering, command. Some more than others, of course. Being able to help out wherever necessary with the skill set that you have sounds very rewarding. Especially when people are thankful to see a synth enter their department. Sometimes as a doctor, you’d just have nothing to do for half an hour or so, as a synth that wouldn’t happen, usually. Being a synthetic is also a much different role play perspective than it is to be a human, which is just as interesting.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

It was years ago during an event round with groundside UPP, where they received a snythetic. They were tons of help to the UPP not just through their skills but also their negotiations they conducted as a “neutral” party, somewhat. As it wasn’t a full-blown boring USCM vs UPP war event. It even involved some marines shooting the synth, but him being able to de-escalate it by just shrugging off the wounds and patching himself up

More recently, a round as FD on LV-624, deployed to the med dome together with a synth with whom I tag teamed a flood of surgery patients by swapping bone gel/metal sheets for bone repair until we had to retreat back to the FOB and he recovered all the surgery gear for me while I was running back to the LZ.

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?

I’m probably as knowledge as one can be in medical and command. I don’t really play engineering that much anymore, especially with the upcoming changes but I can still build a decent FOB. I can also operate req at an acceptable standard and know when I need to prepare crates and what.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

Using being deployed as an example, if I gotta do FOB construction or surgery and a runner was to jump over some unwired fences, I’d do my best to chase him in the FOB until he jumps out again, at which point I carry on with my duties.

If I had to then move to the frontline with 2 other riflemen, I’d escort them with my melee weapon ready and try to illuminate the path with flares. With a lurker jumping on one of them, I’d engage until he backs off, trying to get as many hits in as possible so he doesn’t come back while staying with the group. If later down the line a warrior lunged one of them, I’d try to recover the marine by pulling them out of the grab. If even more xenos swarm us I’d give up on rescue and run towards the nearest place that’s fortified.

If there’s marines I’d try to get them to come with me to rescue the dead marines. If not, and I can see them with binos with no xenos around, I’ll carefully test the waters and fireman carry them quickly back to a safe place. If it turns out that the xenos are waiting around the bodies to try and jump me I’d hold off on any attempt without some backup.

At the frontline itself I’ll reserve myself to strictly supporting work by shaking up stunned marines, treating the injured as corpsman or helping the CTs build defenses.

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

I got a minor note 2 weeks ago for misjudging a secure area as FD while trying to treat marines there.

Due to this this application will be denied.

You may reapply after a month has passed from your note. (aka somewhere in 1-2 weeks I think by now)
