Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?

I sympathize with alot of people, like CLs (and especially MPs) who atleast on lowpop wind up pretty much doing next to nothing in their round because almost nobody faxes back unless it is some Marine Law-related Emergency. This leads to a cycle where people don’t feel like faxing in the first place because either they feel it is a wasted effort, or you have to memorize the admins that actually do dedicate their time to FaxRP (bless you seraph).

All this to say, I simply wish to both elevate and diversify the RP, and alleviate that problem for alot of the CL and MP players that might feel like the Fax System is going underused or unanswered.

What do you consider the purpose of this role?

In my eyes, you are effectively acting as a middle man for the staff. You are taking faxes that people bring in, and acting on their behalf and alleviating some of the burden off of them as they are usually doing tickets or gaming and whatnot. You, as a Fax Responder can be responsible for answering issues, giving out minor objectives, all the way up to authorizing a CO Arrest Warrant if needed, and you are HC/Provost.

You are basically here to both spice up/diversify Roleplay for those roles that once their 15 minutes of glory is up, (Survivors my beloved) don’t feel like they have to deploy just to have content for another hour and a half, and act partly on behalf of Staff.

Same question I asked the others. Per the rules of the WL, you may only call the Almayer under EXCEPTIONAL circumstances What would you define that as?

I can’t really think of any, but if the CL is planning on doing something blatantly illegal/round altering (like possessing bombs with an obvious and clear intent to kill/destroy) and faxes to them/MPs are not working, I may call MPs or CIC to inform them of the situation as a last resort.

Basically a situation where a large amount of people could be affected very negatively and faxes have not worked.

I mean to be fair if the CL is self antagging and you see it happening that’s more an ahelp issue. If not then yeah.

  1. I would give them an objective like talk to X Survivor and faxes back a full report, try and pay a marine to get the Colony Blackbox, convince the XO/CO to sign an NDA.

  2. As for Press Responder, I would tell them to interview Survivors, or tell them to get pictures of certain castes/pictures of bug eggs and fax them back.
