Greatest Opponent of Napoleon & his Marshals (Not including the Russian Winter)

Following up on my previous thread Favorite Marshal of the First French Empire

Who is your favorite opposing general of the 1st French Empire?

My personal favorite is Prussian Field Marshal, The first and only one of two to receive the Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross, Marshal Forward, the absolute mad lad that pissed off Frederich the Great, the one and only Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher.

Personal bias aside, the award, in my humble opinion should go to Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. Man was so talented he was made a Field Marshal of Austria, Hanover, The Netherlands, Portugal, Prussia, Russia and Spain. His campaigns in Portugal & Spain were excellent. To quote the man himself, Waterloo was “a close run thing.”

To top it off we actually have a photo of the man. Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington - Wikipedia

Kutuzov of the Russian Empire. The man that cost Napoleon the most during the height of his power.

Waterloo may have gone either way, but even if Napoleon was victorious in that battle, it was HIGHLY Improbable that he was going to win the war.

All of Europe was descending upon Paris from every direction with armies that far dwarfed his in scale at that point in time. He could only fight one of them, and he chose the British.
