ban comtech players because they let a cadeline fall when they had metal to repair it

ban req players for not launching a supply crate on cooldown (any good req player would be disgusted)

ban doctors for letting a marine chestburst topside during surgery

ban pfcs for walking backwards instead of shooting the queen

i get that telling people others couldn’t be revived might seem kind of shitty but if they were literally the only person who could use a defib planetside, they had 26 revives, and they only let two people die (presumably while ALSO healing literally everyone else??) it feels really picky and petty to go ‘well, these people with max damage, you didn’t fix them, here’s a note that could lead to a future job ban’.

people make mistakes in the heat of the moment all the time and sometimes judgement calls need to be made.

we (hopefully) don’t note or ban people for failing to do similarly adjacent things (as i said above), so why this one particular instance? oops, the marine with 600 damage that would take two minutes to revive wasn’t healed while there were other people about to die all around you. sorry, have a job ban for not playing perfectly.

yes, i read the sr. yes, i know it was because they told people they couldn’t be revived. no, i don’t care, because they stated they were the only medic groundside and i have not seen any refute to prove that otherwise.

regardless of whether or not it passes, i think its a bad precedent bc it just makes it even more difficult for newer medics to play because despite their ‘best efforts’ when 8 marines are yellow lined and get dragged to you, sometimes you have to make a choice.

I honestly don’t think it matters too much about black carding them, when he is the only medic on the front. The only thing it does is maybe stop them from wasting time on CPRing them (he wouldn’t be able to save them anyhow), but triage is a real thing, and it usualy makes medics/doctors do hard decisions that cost people lives. Sure he could have been saved, but he could also have been a hinderence to get the other 3 guys up. It could have also stopped 1-2 marines from being on the front to try to CPR them, and it could have not.

It dosn’t go against plain logic to black card them in this situation, other then it maybe made those permad marines feel bad.

The whole thing is like
“He can definitely revive those people because i can so i noted them”
Well what if a player isnt as good as you? Do you note someone for being bad at their job?

Oh god. Please dont kid me. Getting noted is definitely a warning.
If by the next time “he isnt competent” again hes gonna get job banned.
I had to dispute and argue with someone in staff when was staff because a newbie OT got noted for accidentally blowing up the OT workshop.

What if they accidentally do it again? No shit hes getting job banned.

People are overcomplicating this. Whether the medic heals them or not is not a factor in the report. Just don’t lie about them being perma (and don’t black card). If you’re a newbie and aren’t sure, then say you don’t know, or don’t answer. Just because my body burned awhile in a fire doesn’t mean a medic should tell people I’m perma, when I’m not.

bro, he didn’t just not revive those people, he black carded them and told people they were unsaveable. no other medics or not, that’s stupid and borderline griefing. you are literally making the conscious choice to not even make the attempt. in example, i’ve been dragged through boiler gas and then incend OB’d, a single medic got me and three other people with 5 to 800+ burn damage up and didn’t just black card us and leave us behind. would you honestly not be annoyed if somebody did that to you? it takes you out of the round. it has nothing to do with competency, this isn’t what’s in question. people need to actually read the SR
‘we should ban x role for y reason then!!!’ this is besides the point, please stop with this generalization fallacy. this community loves to do that for some reason
‘there were 8 other people!!!’ there were not
‘he revived 26 people though guys!!!’ still griefed two people and took them out of the round

the note/warning just got removed regardless, ya’ll can stop witchhunting stalkerino now, it doesn’t change my opinion at all.

Whilst I don’t have the ability to jban you from medic, I CAN banish you from the MedCord, if that at all helps.

I am a pretty fucking experienced medic. not to stroke thy cock but also a pretty good one at that.
This debate is stupid, as it ignores the key factor within the situation. Stress, SallyRRed made the best call as they felt. This does not mean it was the best call, as yes… these bodies were easily revable even with fuck all supplies, kit > line/suture > kit > epi > defib > chem would have been one of the quicker ways to get the body up in time.
When you are under high stress situations with a couple of bodies, often times its best to take priority of the bodies you can get up quickly EPICALLY if the front is at risk. however it was foolish of him to ignore the bodies, No.1 rule of medic is every body is revable, yes even with 5 seconds left on the clock.

I speak from personal experience as a HM main, who runs around naked with the goal of getting as many bodies possible- prioritizing high damaged marines on mass(i am a masochist when it comes to mass causalities)

Do I think they made a full mistake here, 100% yes fully the black card was not needed at all, then again i work of the philosophy of all bodies are revable even if it means wasted resources.

This is just a newbie mistake, medics do this all the time especially when they are new, they see damage above x and think “its jover for this one” this is inexperience and incompetence.

Nah 5 seconds means you need literally perfect CPR timing to keep them alive, if you have 5 seconds you’re fucking dead unless you are under 300 damage, because it doesn’t matter how much of a pro medic you are, you also need a pro CPRer.

The only issue here was were the actions of the player a sign of intentional grief or just work-related stress. There was never a question of the player being noted for their competence, or lack thereof, but simply that it was perceived that their actions may have been intentionally griefing in the moment.

However, it would seem on reflection (hindsight is 20/20) it was stated that the situation was likely not a case of grief.

End of case.

completely fair and i can concede on these points

Never automatically attribute to malice what is easily attributed to incompetence.
I think that saying rings true for literally all of CM, hence seeing this situation be given an exception and seen as direct malice initially (not in hindsight) was strange to many players, given some people kept arguing it wasn’t incompetence , but a question of griefing or sabotage.

One man’s incompetence is another man’s grief.

I’m not accusing anyone of being incompetent. But the issue herein is that everyone has their own level of expected competence when doing a task.

Furthermore, we’re examining an issue wherein the staff made a in-the moment decision, whereas all of us are being afforded days of debate and time to reflect on the situation post-facto.

The fact is that no one on either side was acting in bad faith. The player was trying to do their job as well as they could, and the staff was trying to interpret the situation (to their own personal standards) as best they could.
