How many corpsmen should be job banned?

Using the precedent from SallyRRed - Staff Report: Enforcement Action Taken - Stalkerino

If Stalkerino can note medics for letting his friend perma then I can ahelp medics and have them noted/jobbanned for letting me perma, right?

On a serious note, this note is just ridiculous, a medic noted and threatened with a job ban if he determines a burn victim is unsaveable when he has other patients (in the screenshot stalkerino gave, you can see another patient right next to Frydenlund, with less than 2.5 minutes before permaing).

I scanned Frydenlund’s health, the damage showed 454 burn.

There’s a couple scenarios possible here, SallyRRed claims there was 600 “burn damage”, though he could’ve been talking about 600 total damage of which 454 was burn damage, since a marine rapidly accumulates ~400-500 burn damage even after dying of brute and then being set on fire, which is what I assume happened here.

A marine can take up to a total of 720 combined brute/burn damage. So it is possible for Frydenlund to have been at this maximum, 454 burn damage with 266 brute damage.

Let’s consider a couple scenarios:

  • A: Marine with ONLY 454 burn damage and nothing else.
  • B: Marine with 454 burn damage and 146 brute damage, these are roughly the values that I see on marines that were set on fire during or after their last moments fighting xenomorphs/FF.
  • C: Marine with 454 burn damage and 266 brute damage, theoretically highest possible damage.

Before I start testing, I just want to say that not all medics carry prep vendor items with them, should we note/jobban them for that? Since if you’re missing some of the items like epinephrine it makes it harder to revive people.

Also note that the way damage is given via VV is a bit different from normal gameplay, but that would only change the numbers by dunno, 20 seconds?

A:

Took me around 60 seconds, using 11 burn kits, one epi dose, one defib charge and grafting head, chest, groin.

B:
image

Took me around 105 seconds, using 9 burn kits, 4 brute kits, grafting the entire body and one defib charge.

C:
image

Took me around 140 seconds, using 11 burn kits, 3 brute kits, grafting the entire body and suturing the chest, groin and head, epi and two defib charges.

Assuming SallyRRed had enough supplies and would only focus on Frydenlund with no distractions, no enemies, Frydenlund could have been revived in time given CPR.

However, I still believe giving a note/threatening a jobban for failing to save 2 marines and reviving 26 others is unjustifiable.

Also as I was making this, I was also playing and a medic revived one person (which had only 200 damage) in the same time that I revived two people with 200 damage each, the times I gave work with no mistakes, and little wasted time (I fumbled my inventory a couple times), a newer medic could easily take double that time.

Do NOT post in an complaint if you are not contributing evidence that proves or disproves an allegation. We do not want complaints to be “flame wars”

I could move it to discussions if you want

There was no “precedent set”, the report is still open and it’ll probably get accepted, stop trying to start drama.

Come on man they haven’t even ruled on the SR yet

Hi, this was not the reason for the note and I’m not sure where you’re getting this from. The note was given due to them black carding and telling others that they were perma and not to attempt recovery.

mods move this shit back to acid goop where it belongs.

Sorry, when you mouse over a marine in a screenshot it doesn’t show the name, I had no way to know that it was also the one that was left behind.

Every single one of them. Fuck medics. Medics are the reason of at least 70% of marines losses, because of their tunnel vision they keep treating marines right on the front, never retreat in time, force people to defend them, etc. Yet they are so full of themselves.

Anyway it all depends on the situation. If you have one yellow lined guy with >400 dmg and three green guys with ≈200 dmg, you should prioritize the yellow lined guy, unless you are in a desperate situation (xenos are getting upper hand and you need as many fighters as soon as possible).

Note is kinda dumb anyway. Black card doesn’t matter much, people with medhud would still see that the person is revivable and if they could, they would attempt to revive them, but from what I understand there was only one medic there. Ideally the medic should have just told the CPRing guy to go find another medic, but healing and typing at the same time is not an easy task.

My favourite thing about most Corpsmen is that ontop of being shit, they refuse any advice or help.

The amount of medics I’ve been very polite to and given genuine advice just for them to snap back and be an arsehole to me is unreal even while I was playing Holiday I found a few medics who looked new and were taking their time with easy fixes, i’d pop up and ask them if they’re like help and point out what they could maybe do better if they asked or it looked like they could use the pointer and they’d all snap back and be rude as fuck about it, kick up and a fuss and pretend they knew what they were doing and then they’d conveniently walk off and abandon the patient so I could fix em.

Corpsmen are wild. They only overdose me, why should I trust everyone but Reid and Fizz?

The corpsman performed triage and claims

a lack of burn kits in my belt while I had a whole container dedicated to it in my backpack which had run out

(in their eyes) which would make the person in question hard to revive without burn kits, thus the corpsman deemed him unrevivable in the current circumstances, other corpsmen (should they have the supplies) could look at the black card and decide they were revivable given they had Medical HUDs.

I tried re-doing the tests without using kits but it didn’t seem to change the time by that much, could someone try to test it as well? Do kits even speed up grafting/suturing in the three scenarios that I listed above?

this is the goofiest shit i’ve ever read and is genuinely a bawwwfest
treat your patients or don’t fucking play corpsman, simple as
it’s just a note and the SR isn’t even resolved

What Zhu posted in the report is more or less a good response to the whole situation and this thread isn’t really needed.

Any medical main is gonna straight up be disgusted with anyone that abandons a marine just because they have 400+ damage. (It’s totally possible to heal even 800 damage) It’s actually hilarious that the medic in question felt they didn’t have enough time to heal the marine because of multiple wounded/downed around them, but had enough time to casually set their card to black for whatever reason.

This is main issue. No one wants to shit on newer medical players, everyone would be willing to offer guidance and help regarding anything medical related including how to treat 400+ damage marines. But setting the black card and just abandoning them was just unnecessary and mind boggling, should of at least attempted to save them without a doubt.

This is a great way to put it
people act like notes are the end of the world but they’re literally only so admins and mods can see if the behavior has happened before, no further action was taken. the dude could have feasibly been revived especially with CPR
he wasn’t jobbanned, in certain situations i’ve felt that notes aren’t even needed at all but in this one it’s 100% deserved
the title is a massive hasty generalization, “this guy got noted so all medics should be jobbanned,” what the hell? lol

If he felt it was beyond his ability, then no one can really note him for it. We get instances of this every round, the only thing different is the black card which no one uses or listens to anyway I’ll be real.
