I just cant enter the game outside of my Windows machine!

I was banned twice for the last two days. Both my accounts got banned for “Ban evasion” or “Server Raiding”.

Kidding, I also play on Linux and in five years I got sticky banned twice. There is a list that is supposed to make you unbannable by sticky ban system.
Oh, I need to get into this list.
The other question is why for two times when I was banned for linux no one added me to this list?
That is why we are telling you have have to appeal it. This is not how you appeal it.
Hey, can you describe please, how you configured latest version of BYOND working on linux(wine)?
Seems like it refuses to work on the latest update for me. Might be requiring Internet Explorer 11 or something?

To make the latest update work I had to install vcrun2015 via winetricks on the prefix I used for the previous version. If you need my instruction from the scratch let me know.
Oh, okay. It’s launched with vcrun2015. But now my chat is not working as well as actions menu(OCC, Weapon, Object, etc. - all of it). How it fix it?
Yeah there is no way, you can’t use status tab since it started to use react, tgui doesn’t work etc. You can only use old chat (use “fix-chat” verb).
You can play most xeno castes pretty comfortable but you cannot: use tacmap, tunnels, purchase strains, use building menus, use hivestatus, etc. etc.
You can play marine roles that don’t require using any menus (so you cannot play engineer/medic), but you’d have to first boot up a VM to purchase gear, then switch to wine for better performance.
There is a possible way to improve VM performance greatly by using GPU passtrough, but I haven’t got around to it yet.
why still use linux when you have to reinvent the wheel for every software? im curious
Because windows is currently on a downwards spiral of bloatware and spyware.

while that’s true to an extent, I don’t think so necessarily, I use windows and I don’t really have any of that (i think…)

Windows 11, and partially 10. Haven’t you heard about windows 11 screenshotting your desktop so it can use that information for developing their AI?
i dont have windows 11 and i haven’t heard of that, but that’s pretty not cool! i don’t have much to hide on my desktop anyway though
