Completely agree. People don’t realize how useful 1-2 boxes of flares are in the field, flaregun is also extremely useful if you don’t know what to bring as a secondary. You can light xenos on fire and even use unique action to shoot a flare in the sky. Kinda useless in caves but even shooting a normal flare makes the illumination level higher.

Glad to teach people this trick; you can also shoot CAS flares in the air too, the only caveat is that it won’t work underground.

Further proof I should run the max-flare loadout next time I roll Rifleman. Personally I chalk the abundance of marine ā€˜Fear RP’ up to the simple fact that there’s almost nothing to do if/when you do die. Understandable for game balance, but it does suck to spend thirty minutes getting into the fight only to get immediately three tapped by a ravager and go perma because the front retreated. Part of why you don’t really see xeno Fear RP is because they can simply wait in the queue while any chance for a human respawn is very slim.

ehh, i could see that but a lot of marines also op in to become a xeno after getting permed. So this likely covers a good few but not every one.

people who die as xeno are already interested in playing xeno, with human player I suspect it is less likely
