Why do you want to become a Mentor?:

I would really like to play SEA and i also really enjoy assisting new players when they join the game. I would also like to note that i love seeing new players when they join because i love this server and love to see it grow

What gameplay areas do you know and which areas are you strong and weak in?:

Medical: I consider myself competent in medicine and could assist any troubled medic in reviving a dead marine or in the removal of a larva.

Research: If im honest i dont know much but i am capable of using the wiki quite well and believe i could assist in most cases and in any case i cannot i will watch the ticket and learn how to assist in the future.

Engineering: I dont play an engineering shipside but i have played plenty of comtech so i can understand the role quite well and assist in pretty much any case.

OT: I struggle with this because i cannot figure out the specifics for a good bomb BUT i can always create an OKAY grenade so i can teach the basics and allow them to discover it on their own.

Xeno: I main xeno and know a lot about them i can assist anybody from drone to ravanger. I have also read up a lot on the predator honor code so i can attempt to assist if that is every brought up

Marine Law: This will be one of the tabs i will always have open in my browser because i can function without it but i desire comfirmation when it comes to this despite that i consider myself within the acceptable range of skill.

SOP: I will also keep this open at all times and will ensure i give a basic rundown of this to new marines.

Command: I struggle with communication when im the captain but i have little doubt i could assist one if they asked me directly about what they should do.

Summary: Im able to assist in all the areas i could remember if you need more information on a specific thing just ask.

Q1: Hello, I’m new at research, i’ve seen other players make Corrupted Xenomorphs, how can i do that?

Q2: Hey, this Marine has shrapnel or an objected embedded on them, but i cannot seem to be able to remove it, what am i doing wrong?

Q3: I replaced this APC but it’s still not working, why?

Q4: I’m a demo specialist, whats the range of my RPG? I cant seem to stun the Queen, why?

Q5: How can i purchase hive buffs as Queen?

Q6: What is directional slash? And how do i activate it?

Q7: I’m a carrier, how do i infect marines? I keep throwing facehuggers at them but its not doing anything.

Q1: Hello, I’m new at research, i’ve seen other players make Corrupted Xenomorphs, how can i do that?

A1: before you begin you will need the queens body or some eggs and a praetorian corpse. You need those things because you either need to craft or harvest royal plasma which can be done with this recipe (mixing Egg Plasma and Dark Acidic Blood (extracted from a praetorian) you will also need to go to the research console and level up until your at max level (you will need the papers and level to complete the process)

when you have the 30 units of royal plasma you must insert it into the machine on the table near a Chen dispensers (at this time I would have joined as a mouse and pointed to it] where it will then give you a paper telling you what the plasma can do you need to then insert the paper into the large machine north of the machine you just used and insert another paper into the same machine and you need to transfer ciphering from the plasma to the other one and in the process make it ciphering level 2 so it will produce a corrupted.

After this it’s pretty simple just craft the new recipe you made then inject it into a monkey, but be sure to give the monkey a external blood supply or it won’t work

A2: first I would check their role and see if they can remove somebody else’s shrapnel if they don’t meet that criteria I would instruct them to shake them up and give them a knife so they can do it themselves.

If they can do it I would check intent and if that’s not it then I can’t think of any other reason off the top of my head.

A3: I would check the wiring if I’m able I would also check if any wires are cut or if the breaker is on and if one of the last two are true then I would tell them to check that but if its wiring I would come in as mouse and help them rewire until it works

If it’s none of the above I would check the terminal thing in front of it and and check everything I can until I find an issue then I would walk them through the solution

A4: I’m going to say they need OT rockets for the task and if not perhaps they require HE or AA and would advise them to experiment with those options and see what works (if they question the meaning of the abbreviations I will de abbreviate everything)

A5: Be on ovi go into manage hive the. Click into the buffs section if that’s not the correct name I would ask for them to tell me the actual names int there redirect them properly

A6: it’s a setting which allows to to click behind your target and have them still be slashed. You can enable it by going into character creature then the setting/global tab below your character sprite then find the setting and activate it

A7: I would watch then try it once make sure they target face and check intent I would also make sure they are adjacent to the target

I don’t mean to be rude, but I don’t think you fully answered any of the questions exactly correctly / appropriately. Nor is it possible for mentors to join as mice on CM-SS13.

This is mostly correct, but Ciphering 2 alone dont make corrupted, the host will have to be infected first. And mentors cannot join as Mice. Best you can do is be someones imaginary friend if they require help.

(Mentors have no OOC/Admin powers or anything like that, other than access to be someones Imaginary friend to assist/teach them, and being able to play as SEA’s with OOC overhead text to teach new players)

This is correct for shrapnel, but the question is a bit tricky, This doesn’t happen often but when things explode or get launched around you, there is a chance something gets embedded in you, like a machete or any object, If you using a scanner or checking someones shrapnel, you may think its normal shrapnel and knife wont remove it. They will need to yank it out from the person, or instruct the player to yank it out themselves. Either Right click and yank it out, or instruct them to use the Verb in the top right tab

This is incorrect. You need AP rockets, not HE. OT Rockets can work too if they have enough power to stun the Queen, but not any OT rockets, Incendiary and other mixes won’t stun her. And even with AP if you shoot it at max range, it wont stun her. Need to be at 5 tiles for AP to stun her, and different rockets have different max ranges.

You don’t need to specifically be on Ovi, you can buy them anywhere. As for the where to find the hive buffs it is correct

(Many times you won’t be able to observe the player in question, unless you are actually observing the round) However, this is correct to infect them when you are adjacent to them and apply the hugger on the marine, but may be good to point that throwing them around doesn’t do much, as the huggers need around 10 seconds to be active if not placed on a trap or used by hand.

I would also recommend to organise your responses a little better, mind probably some newer players are going to be reading your response seeking help and/or how to do something, and it was a bit chaotic to read some of them.

I’d like to see you become a Mentor since you have the enthusiasm of helping new players, but overall i think you need a bit more of experience in different roles and some game mechanics so its going to be, atleast for now a -1 from me. Good luck regardless!
