Character Name(s):

Hadrianna “Hades” Greywood.
Walter “Gentleman” Humphrey
HAD (Former xeno tag).
HAD3 (Current xeno tag)

Why do you want to become a Mentor?:

I have a passion for helping people and teaching was one of the few ways I could do what I love. After my past experiences of teaching several nurses and privates whenever I had the opportunity, I decided to apply to become a SEA so that I can continue to teach people as an official mentor.

What gameplay areas do you know and which areas are you strong and weak in?:

Medical: (Strong knowledge)
I know all chemical formulas, surgeries, treatments, medical tricks by heart.

Reserch: (Weak knowledge)
I used to understand the basics of research. But I haven’t touched research after the recent Research overhaul.

Command: (Strong knowledge)
I understand how to send supply drops, coordinate OB, tech points and how to message squad leaders.
SL is also my second highest played role so I am well-versed when it comes to giving orders, organising squads, which tasks need to be prioritised and when to push or retreat.

Requisitions: (Moderate knowledge)
I am confident in requisition basics and know how to send supplies while balancing the overall budget.

Engineering: (Strong knowledge)
I understand and have applied cade theories in my FOB building. I am also comfortable fixing APC’s, setting up comms, fixing sensors and disassembling walls by tools.

I have a weak understanding of Ordnance Tech but I know the basics in theory

Xeno (Moderate knowledge)
I understand the basics of xeno and have played mostly support castes, particularly as builders or healer drones. I have a basic understanding of how to build as a builder caste, how to set up pylons on comms, how to capture and nest people.

CAS: (Weak knowledge)
I only have the very basic knowlege of how to install weapons, how to pick up medevacs. Though coordinating firemissions is still something I haven’t quite grasped.

Marine Law:
I have invested several hours as MP so I have a decent knowledge of marine law and SOP expectations.

How often are to able to play CM?:

~2-5 hours on weekdays, ~7+ hours on weekends

I have personally seen Hades taking time out of their round to teach a nurse all things medical better than even I would have. An outstanding player in all aspects, and I hope to see you on the team soon!

The kindest, most helpful, and most patient teacher to have ever graced CM.

Hades is the closest thing we have to a national treasure.

We are so fortunate she is willing to volunteer more of her time to help others into the community!

+1!!

Hades is one of the nicest players I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with on cm, and they’ve already demonstrated their ability to teach others in a friendly and calm demeanor when they’ve done so with me.

While I think you could learn a bit more about the xeno side, nobody mentorhelps for xeno anyways!!!

This is a very easy +1 and I think the mentor team would benefit a lot from their addition.

I have only had positive interactions with Hades!

I have seen you in a wide variety of marine roles where you taught new players, especially as CMO. From what I have seen in-game and from your hours, you have a good grasp on the marine side of things, and I think you could effectively teach any job

Your xeno hours are a little on the lower side, but I have seen you actively playing more! Could you answer some xeno-based example Mhelps?

  1. How do I ally with researchers as green queen?
  2. I am a drone now, what do I do?
  3. How do I make a need weeds mark?
  4. I turned on directional slashing or whatever but how do I use it? I keep trying to break this window with it

  1. How do I ally with researchers as green queen?

In order to ally with the researchers, you must first click on the Aliens tab on the top right side of your screen. Then look for ‘Hive Alliance Status’ and click on it! It’ll pop up a menu where you can select all the possible factions you can ally your hive with. Tick the ‘USMC’ to ally with the researchers and the marine corps.

  1. I am a drone now, what do I do?

As a drone, you’ll be primarily tasked with building structures and weeding for your teammates! First, click on your ‘Emit Pheromones’ ability on the top left of your screen (it will have an icon of tiny scattered dots). Then select ‘Recovery’. This recovery pheromone will grant both you and nearby xeno teammates health and plasma regeneration to enable you to last longer in the battlefield and use your skills more frequently.

Next, start planting weeds in areas that are not covered in weeds. You can do this by clicking on ‘plant weeds’ ability, or by pressing C on your keyboard. A weed node will be planted on the ground and it will gradually start to cover the surrounding tiles with weeds in a few seconds. Weeds allow xenos to move faster and recover their health when they rest, whilst also slowing down enemies.

Now, you can start building structures on top of weeds. To do this, First select the type of structure you want to build by clicking on ‘Choose Resin Structure’ ability or by pressing V.

Once selected, click ‘Secrete Resin’ ability or press G, then click with your middle mouse button on the area you want to build that particular structure in. Ideally, you want to build resin walls where you and your teammates can take cover from gunfire and build resin doors on either side of your walls so that xenos can freely move through the area.

  1. How do I make a need weeds mark?

In order to mark resin, you first need to be a hive leader or a queen. Then, you will be granted the ‘Mark Resin’ ability (Look for the icon that have exclamation marks and a question mark). Click on the ‘Mark Resin’ ability on the top of your screen then click with your middle mouse button, which will then open up the Mark Menu. Click on the icon of the currently selected marker and you’ll open up a list of different markers you can choose from. The ‘Need weeds’ option is located near the bottom of the list. Once selected, click on the area you want to mark with your middle mouse button again to mark the area!

  1. I turned on directional slashing or whatever but how do I use it? I keep trying to break this window with it

When clicking on the window, make sure you are on harm intent in order to damage it. It should break after a few clicks at most.

  1. How do I use xeno hotkeys?

By default, the xeno primary ability hotkeys are: C, V, G, B and N. And, depending on the type of xeno caste you are, these hotkeys can activate or toggle the skills that your current xeno caste is capable of. Example: Using ‘C’ as a drone will activate ‘Plant Weeds’ abitlity. You can check or change your hotkeys by going to your ‘Preferences’ tab on top right corner of your screen, and click on ‘Edit Hotkeys’. Then scroll down until you see the ‘Xeno’ category where you can check its current hotkeys or change it to suit your needs!
