Great idea. This will save CM.
i like the concept but i reserve judgment for the execution. i’m mildly surprised that some MRP grand-scale might happen on a TDM server.
Yes, my brother you understand. If only the greater community could imbibe our knowledge.
after each battle, we should have an after action report if they died that round to list their name on it for muh immersion/rp
Reports of my death were greatly exaggerated.
Dead? That was weeks ago dude. Times change.
i say this all the time when people are surprised Gramps still lives
That guy somehow survived, so I guess you could do something like that for the campaign?
I’d not ask people to respect the deaths of their characters in a previous round. We can just make an assumption that operations conducted prior to the current round were done by a different battalion of Marines.
UPP Combat op possibly?
UPP op would be interesting but a huge task to achieve, and not something I’d want to try to do across half a dozen or more rounds. It’d also likely require multiple admins to do due to the complexity and permission requirements.
A squad of UPP, or CLF, is very easy to do.
I’d even be willing to set custom names for the UPP or CLF characters if people want them.
If anyone has ideas for faction rewards for winning a stronghold planet, I’m more than happy to hear them. I’m not quite sold with my ‘give marines a few stacks of advance, advance burte/burn kits’ reward and I’m not sure what impact Cultists will have.
The idea should not be insanely hard to implement on a round to round basis, and I’m cautious on adding too many ERT rewards.
strongly objecting to any and all buffs that persist round by round even when contained in one campaign - if same people play the same faction it will be even a bigger steamroll next round
maybe add cool marine customization shit, like armored bandanas and dumb crap like that so marines become more dripped out if they win
Bragging rights
well there’s many things that could be given.
for marines they could get:B18 armor(the armour with an autoinjector), APC,Tank, one of those special admin snipers, and special ammo for guns and cas and maybe lab grown Xenos that have to ally with Marines.
For Xenos they could get:stronger/Special pheromones, Special Xenos for the other castes(like a boiler that has a bigger acid glob or something), Abominations/Predaliens and maybe some allied hive that has to help them.

I feel that Stronghold planets are useful to buff up the strategic map, giving a reason to detour instead of the map just being a giant linear line from home planet to home planet. Ergo I think there should be some incentive to attack and win on a stronghold planet.
On the other hand I agree it may become excessive quickly if a faction gets too strong bonuses and can possibly steamroll. However, the nature of this being an event allows staff to intervene and alter things if its found things are becoming too oppressive for one faction.
Bragging rights
That comes by default to be fair.
well there’s many things that could be given. …
These are fair enough, I’d likely aim closer for more simple concepts or less impactful ones.
i guess overall the issue comes down to how you interpret the campaign. Should it just strictly be a way to loosely link multiple rounds together that effects a greater strategic map, or should actions in previous rounds heavily influence future rounds? I’d like it to be a bit of both, but who knows how a “refined” version of my event suggestion may look.
possibly the next map you would be able to “saturation bombard” zones on the map to make them uninhabitable for xenos and locked off
Tank for one round for marines, Palatine for one round for xenos?
Could do it like PVE does and just make it a seperate gamemode or whatever they do with it and allow people to ser their own characters in the setup screen
But if you dont want the hassle of sifting through CM code is fine
