When the time comes I’d likely give advance warning, not just dropping it in <24 hours.

That’s actually pretty cool. Yeah, I like it- Winning a stronghold planet letting you cuck marines so they get forced onto LZ Palms in New Varadero, or letting marines cuck xenos so they can’t hive in Lambda Labs on Solaris, etc.
Just needs badmins to collapse those places (or just blow them up or whatever)!
I for one, fully support nuking Trijent Dam’s filtration system (and also HEDP the smaller catwalks) so everyone needs to cross the toxic piss water.
A sadistic part of me wishes the xenos get a OB of their choice they can shoot at FOB (with extra warning, of course), so I can watch everyone run around in a panic during an FOB siege.
Stronghold Planets could offer benefits like starting Tech Points for marines or reduction in Evolution for Xenos (like a across the board -50 evolution). Increase in Evilution would be nice too. Maybe Stronghold Planets can have like “Persistent Buried Larva” where it gives every xeno +1 larva after they die once. Really make it the fight against the Stronghold difficult. Meanwhile marines could get benefits like increase vendor points which would go a long way. Even +20 vendor points for every marine is Two AP mags. Dunno just thinking of some ideas.
@BasilHerb Giving Xenos a one use OB would be extremely funny. But it’d also feel bad for the Marines since they usually struggle to outrun even allied OBs. Also considering the more competitive nature of the meta-campaign I think that might peeve some people.
I’ve expanded my thought in the google doc but one possible idea is, as noted earlier, to let Marines blow up certain parts of the map pre-1st drop, with some restrictions.
@QueenBopTheFirst Giving bonus vendor points is a interesting idea, but I don’t think there’s a easy way for staff to gift bonus vendor points outside of doing it one person at a time, which would be impractical. But simple things like tossing in extra larva should be easy.
Instead of giving xenoes control of the OB, you could instead make it so xenoes can choose to make the current OB wrongly loaded (Ares gives a message about it), which has to be fired to be reloaded. Less one sided, but definitely Xeno sided.
A xeno cultist could misfuel the OB and achieve the same result too
A true buff would be to unban certain xeno-agents from CMP for that round, and ensure the MP department is fully staffed.

Stick a perma body into it and the marine comes back to life. (In reality youd just have staff aheal them or something) and it wouldnt impact the round significantly combat wise… but in terms of moral and roleplay would be impactful.
For xenos you could spawn that respawn jelly. It had diminishing returns the higher the tier.
So five respawns for the metabuddies of whoever’s in charge of it or scout/SADAR?

I mean the point was to supply an idea of a boon for winning part of this campaign. But not one that ruined the balance entirely or had no benefit whatsoever.
As others have pointed out the issue with cloning is that unless it is offered to every Marine, and only once per Marine, then it runs the risk of being a “clone the Spec” button. Having to kill a Spec five times does not sound great. It’s also a bridge too far for me in terms of lore considering in-universe cloning does not result in accelerated growth over the course of 5 minutes.
A small buff I can think of is guaranteed cyclo OT rockets- Those are massive for the SADAR, and upgrade him from being a stun slut to a “gib all xenos in a 3x3 tile radius” button. However, it’s also ONLY for the SADAR and is highly dependent on the SADAR not being dumb.
If we wanna expand it to all marines, maybe spawning some incendiary mags, or other special ammunition (not HEAP) would be cool. Wouldn’t need to be a lot for Incend, since smart marines loads 40 normal bullets +1 Incend per mag.
Treat it as HC finally delivering a resupply after the shitshow of Tychons Tackle.
If we wanna think of a pretty significant buff- How about portable telecommunications for one round? Boom, no comm blackouts, EVER- unless FOB gets infiltrated.
For xenos, maybe additional fortifications? Imagine the chaos from raising the reflective walls limit, or letting xenos spam extra pylons and hive cores everywhere, letting them cap effectively even if the hive collapses.
Something small but super annoying could be for permanent heavy rain or other weather effects so no one can see their screen (maybe the xenos damaged the terraforming equipment controlling the weather)

What about simplifying it? Send extra nades/AP mags/similar over ASRS as a reward? A bit basic, but if it works it works yk.
True, just having a set of extra crates of AP/SG/SPEC ammo could be a neat reward. Could also be a finite reward for when you need it the most, like say 4 crates total of each ammo type.
You could also have multiple nonroles open. Like you managed to rescue a team of professional chefs… then allow 3 mst slots.
