Vitoras was talking in LRC about queen strains, if this comes to be (I don’t think it will, and I don’t think it should) what would be some ideas for the strains?
Maybe this will be more of a ideasguy thing, but I think people should discuss if queen strains should exist or not.
Vitoras’ main point was that the queens support power was terrible.

i dont want to be that guy but adding strains on queen sounds iffy she’s meant to be a jack of all trades type of caste so ofc she doesn’t excel at anything in particular
Despite this being a troll post I just wanted to mention that Queen is actually in its most balanced state ever and should not be changed under any circumstances.
I know, I don’t think queen should get strains either, the only reason this discussion exists is because Vitoras was talking about it and I wanted to know his points & what should exist in a queen strain on the forums, and not some LRC that people would forget about.
Been discussed a lot already. About giving her the option to chose beteen balances, combat focused, and Ovi focused.
Ultimatly it didnt go anywhere because what the queen does impacts the ENTIRE hive.
A combat focused queen would mean a hive that has it harder to evolve, and a ovi focused would be one that doesnt have access to their one of the strongest casts at the front.
Queen is fine as is. Rather expand xenos in other parts.

Queen doesn’t need strains, what she needs is more ovi abilities that are fun to use.

A strain that removes screech but adds ability to summon 10+ much tankier lesser drones up for ghosts to grab, but they die if they are too far away from Queen herself.

Correction, noone who is a filthy powergamer would use that. You have CO’s who make intentionally shitty decisions, you could have Queens who do that too.
If that even is a shitty decision to drop almost entire screen several seconds stun for a personal army of more than a dozen buffed combat lesser drones each time you would otherwise screech.
Might be even much, much better than a screech.
I guess I am a filthy powergamer then, to me it literally looks like worthless ability compared to screech

We can debate theory, but untill it would be coded in and tested there is nothing really to discuss. Probably every single one would try atleast one time to check it out.
Queen strain where the queen explodes and fucking dies and its a marine major would be awesome
