Solo capping is to be honest, a pain in the ass.
A lot of times, it’s a low risk high reward.

Pounce someone as a runner that cant even see you? free cap, all they gotta do is spam disarm and hope no one follows them

I know being alone is a death sentence but ive been solo capped WITHOUT being alone, having fellow moreens like 3 tiles away, all they had to do was pounce, then spam tackle. nothing I couldve done except pray someone was behind me, with a slug shotgun, and doesn’t miss. Alternately if im alone because someone who was following just decided to wander off like an 8 year old in the target electronics section

maybe not be able to spam tackle when grabbing or devouring, and have to have a teammate help you? More teamwork would be better

tldr; Someone can round remove me in less than 10 seconds without me being able to at least fight back
and that’s bad game design blah blah blah balls

In principle I actually agree, but only in regards that I believe the entire concept of the Xeno Capture game play loop is inherently anti-fun for both sides, Marines more so.

While I agree that capping gameplay is not fun for both sides, it does work to set some atmosphere and this is something somewhat true to the movies.

Runner cannot cap you just from a pounce. Runner will need to land at least two more tackles after you get up and it takes one PB to kill the runner.

I can’t agree with this. Getting capped is supposed to be the main risk when you’re alone, the counterplay is to have people with you, or be quick/lucky in terms of shooting/staggering the runner. If you’re getting solo capped while with someone else… how exactly? It takes awhile while being on the same tile to do the tackle devour process. Skill issue for the marine who could be shooting the runner in that case. And even if you get capped, every so often it leads to interesting situations where you end up shooting up the hive, reverse chestbursting, getting rescued, etc. If xenos just kill you (which happens a lot, even in situations where a cap could be easy) - I find it a lot more boring on both sides. Example - For the Hive - the damage is strong enough that it always seems to lead to permadeaths instead of caps, kinda boring imo. If it was switched to an orange gas effect except stronger, I think it would be more interesting.

usually getting solo capped around people is when im going somewhere then the people behind me just decide not to help me when they see a runner attacking me, or, the runner pushes or pulls me away

yeah last time i got solo capped by the time i pulled my gun out, immediately after i got up, i was pounced on

Getting pounced on resets the tackle counter, so it’s counter intuitive if they want to cap you.

You know, I’ve hated the tackle system in CM for so damn long. For a long time CM was my only experience with SS13. Once I started playing Blackstone and other servers and saw how they handled combat/tackling/wrestling my eyes were opened that the stupid fucking double click remove a perfectly healthy marine from the round mechanic was just dumb as hell. I don’t know, I don’t play filthy Xenos so I am definitely biased. Thematically, getting captured fits in with the game. The issue is that it just fucking feels bad.

Runners are made of tinfoil and red paint (the red paint is used as an adhesive), literally any gun can deal devastating damage to them very quickly.

Shoot the runner like 6 times with Mk2, and it’s in crit (it takes 2 seconds).

PB’ed a xeno that can’t even hit you? free kill, all they gotta do is spam click and hope no one steals their kill.

I know being alone is a death sentence but ive been point blanked WITHOUT being alone, having fellow xenos like 3 tiles, all they had to do was PB, spam melee. nothing I couldve done except pray some xeno with tail stab, and doesn’t miss. Yeah I do feel you but I guess carrying an MD is the way to go. At least your prepared for you, honestly I feel bad for the runners it’s always 1 buckshot and they’re round removed and back in the xeno queue.

At the very least allowing them to have 25 HP after 1 shot but you know everyone is just gonna wyci kinda shit. Not much can be done apart from making it so you can’t be tackled unless injured.

(Drone tackles are bullshit. 2 clicks and round removed)

Solo capping isn’t the issue, it’s the ease in which it is done. Marines should have more ways to deal with it because a single lurker or a single runner, has a very good chance to easily solo cap any random who wanders by and it’s kinda aids.
