Command Knowledge:
How familiar are you with command positions?
I have both played a lot of hours as CMP, XO, SO, and SL. It may be hard to judge situations on the ground at times as they are very unpredictable and can change rapidly. I have tried to do the actions I thought were best for the situation and ‘herd’ the horde of cats as it were to push the flank and target the Boilers which disrupt pushes. I know to use the command announcement to inform marines of any situation like flanks or locations of the Queen to get the experienced troops forward to take them out. I am also quick on the draw with shipside announcements relaying information as necessary.

Character Information:
Why did your character decide to become the CO of a ship?
She seeking out a name for herself but also a caring attitude for her men wanting to lead them to victory and safely home having achievements in life to look back upon and feel happy and content with the choices she has made. Perhaps even reclaim some honor her family once had before the creation of the Union of Progressive Peoples where they had respect and power but the Union was not so kind to people with ties to the West and were cast out like many others who the union saw as capitalist or corporate sympathizers.
How did your character attain the position of CO?
Her Former CO having had confidence in her and showed good qualities of leadership being rhetorical while also being caring towards troops doing everything she could to keep her troops safe while under her command. A pure model of what the soldiers’ creed expects of those who read it especially an Officer of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. Especially because of her standing service and good conduct.
Provide a short story of your CO.

Command Actions:
When do you believe it’s appropriate to pardon a prisoner?
I find it rare that Commanding Officers use their pardoning powers as it is a very powerful power of a CO to give immunity for a crime committed to a marine without going through the appeal process but it can be done per the need to investigate what has happened fully. Though I believe it’s necessary to pardon those who are clearly remorseful for their actions, show respect to those in command and aren’t completely rude to everyone along with of course measuring the severity of their crime and the circumstances of it. Every marine has their spot for a reason just cause you have it doesn’t mean you should be a goofball with it. I wouldn’t reasonably pardon a marine who has demonstrated they cannot be trusted with their position and or an officer uses their powers to cause mischief.
Give some examples of when you would or would not use pardon.
Pardoning
e.g. 1: When the crime is a trivial matter like for example a Private shooting a window being Minor DTGP or Failure To follow Procedure for not wearing armor or not wearing their uniform. They are clearly apologetic and want to have fun and learn by joining a good experience like that of CM. I would pardon them based on the notion they are new and don’t mean harm to the ship directing them to a SEA If there is one or walking them back to preps trying to grab a experienced player to then teach them.
Pardoning
e.g. 2: Troops doing an unauthorized flank without necessary backup but as a result they have accomplished a objective worthy of a commendation like killing the queen or ending a pylon despite repeated orders to retreat. When they returned shipside for medical or to FOB happening upon MPs when the Staff Officer Ordered their arrest them being taken to the ship and to brig. If I was shipside at the time I would cancel their arrest having them pardoned for Minor Insubordination if they didn’t add onto their charges by resisting arrest. If I was deployed I would immediately cancel the arrest seeing as we are in a Combat Operation with no need for people pushing charges on people when people are needed in the fight as these things can be resolved post operation.
Not Pardoning
e.g. 3: During hanger briefing as I let my XO or myself take the helm and discuss a plan planning on deploying marines continuously either bang on the nearby container to create a noise or continuously stack chairs and have them fall down onto other marines and officers. CMP Seeing this orders them to stop when they refuse he orders them again directly pointing at the offenders not a wide group they respond to shove the CMP of course having other MPs and the CMP arrest them immediately.
I would not Pardon them regardless of rank or position due to the fact they cannot sit still for 1-3 minutes while I give out a plan and take questions on said plan and attack MPs without regard for their careers.
Not Pardoning
e.g. 4: As I stand in CIC monitoring the Operation on the ground and catching some MP Comms about a rogue doctor a while later I would get a call about an appeal I decide to head over there seeing as the operation is in capable hands and relatively good condition. It appears that a doctor decided to deploy without permission while a doctor was down there to aid them as i ask them why they deployed without permission they said the Doctor was new and I would think to question the CMO about deploying a rookie doctor into the field however they said they are done helping the operation which I would not tolerate.
Questioning them if they intended to continue to neglect their duty by not helping the operation at large by performing a needed a very vital role of surgeon if they answer yes I would chalk it up to Desertion and have them permanently brigged. I WOULD NOT use a Pardon due to their desertion.
When do you believe it’s appropriate to use a Battlefield Execution?
- When someone is generally trying to undermine the command at large through Armed Mutiny or Undermining the operation by creating a threat shipside without any of the Command Staff being informed.
- When someone is deserting or has forgone their duty to their fellow marines costing or putting other marines lives at risk
- Murdering and not surrendering themselves to Military Police and running around the ship shooting people.
It is not a privilege that should be taken lightly as you are taking the life of one of your fellow marines. For reasons I have already stated. Most situations do not require a Battlefield Execution which is why it is important for COs to show restraint but also resolve showing that you are lenient but also will be swift to do what is necessary to protect yourself, Your fellow marines, and your ship from threats.
Give some examples of when you would or would not use Battlefield Execution.
Would Not BE
e.g. 1:A marine known to be disruptive hurling insults about me or one of my staff about names or something or rather which I would ignore as general marine banter however I would warn them off them being charged when we return to Chinook Station for a trial and court Martial if no Military Police are currently awake. However if Military Police are awake I would have them go and give them a NJP and if they resist I would have them arrest them for major Insubordination and DASO.
Would Not BE
e.g. 2: Where as CO are not in danger in two different situations. You are being pushed around constantly while in the battlefield trying to lase for mortar or CAS Telling related marines to stop pushing me around and moving a bit to make it easier for related marines to pass. Or you are being shoved by some marine, likely as a joke or a disregard for authority which can easily be solved by an MP.
Would BE
e.g. 3: Deploying to FOB to help Support elements like Mortar and JTAC as well as be a symbol for the Marines to Rally behind seeing a doctor trying to fix up marines and accidentally breaking someone’s chest getting punched by a waiting patient and the doctor accidentally stabs them as they then draw their gun and shoot them in the head with a underbarrel shotgun. I WOULD BE Them as whether they like it or not they weren’t there before other patients and need to wait their turn and someone accidentally cutting you is not a valid reason to shoot a Doctor who is trying to patch together your friend who is cut open on a table.
Would BE
e.g. 4: During a normal shift I happen to overhear other officers and NCOs bickering over comms from the start of the round and nearing the middle of it. They continue to disobey orders to drop the issue and instead start arguing elsewhere when one finally of a higher ranking orders the arrest of the other to which i order them to stop. Not knowing the situation entirely I try to mediate the issue then it comes to my attention the NCO is resisting arrest and refusing to comply with a higher ranking officer’s orders for their arrest along with MPs wishing for them to comply getting tired of their continue attempts to dodge around to issue instead of comply with the law as it states I have the MPs attempt to arrest them only for them to then get into CIC and attack me in front of several other CIC staff.
I WOULD BE them After having given them chances to drop the issue and continue on and resolve it after op during a chat in the mess or otherwise and for attempts on my life as well as attempts on the lives of my fellow officers.
