Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory
Ciara was a limited supply line of synthetics that were created for the explicit purpose of household caretaking. It was supposed to be a much better alternative than sending your kids off to a stranger, or placing your grandmother or grandfather in a nursing home. The idea behind their creation is that you would invest into one, and it would last you and your family multiple lifetimes and had a range of skillsets. Teaching, child care, elderly care, cooking, cleaning, medical assistance, medical diagnosis, and much more. It was friendly and personable to those who needed it, and respectful to others. The main appeal was its diverse intelligence as it was able to pick up, analyze, and correctly respond to things such as emotion and age. For example, the elderly would usually require more simplicity and slow paced interactions.
HOWEVER; caretaking is a highly competitive field. During their uptime, advertisements were poor and unclear, and profit margins were not satisfactory, so the idea behind their creation was scrapped altogether. Most of the units were sold off to be repurposed by the highest bidder, or bought off at resales. Many were repurposed, the one in the limelight specifically for USCMC use. It was an easy way to take off the brunt work of training new recruits in specific fields. After all, Ciara could just assist them and keep them motivated. She could also easily be deployed to the field for teaching or mission flexibility. A lot of injured patients or a filled medical ward? The doctors could focus, and Ciara could tend to them alongside giving guidance to others on how to, as well.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?
Ciara is a respectful individual upfront to strangers (civilian or enlisted), older people, and especially her superiors. Should it be requested, or for lower enlisted who she’s more personable with, she has a very open and friendly demeanor. Nicknames aren’t uncommon, and minor back and forths that are within reason are to be expected should the two be on knowingly good terms. After all, she’s practically analyzed and memorized nearly everyone she’s interacted with.
She is very open to talk, but will not go out of her way to bother people, opting with a “Need any assistance?” first. Should someone show interest in communicating, her skillset is a broad range, she’s able to interject knowledge into anywhere the conversation goes and moreover entertain people until they feel satisfied of the conversation. For example, a new engineer is showing doubts on his or her own abilities. Ciara would speak up, ask them if they would like assistance, and should they accept, she will guide and positively reinforce them as they learn. As a caretaker, her priority is safety, learning, and overall satisfaction. TLDR I think it would be awesome to teach people my game or real life knowledge on a synthetic.
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?
I think everyone gets that kick of, “I want to be a synthetic.” I’ve had it for a long time, but never really wanted to put the effort forth to bother and apply. I got to play synthetic a little bit on some privately hosted PVE events and I had a blast. The skillset of it is fun, but there’s such an interesting divide between a marine and a synthetic that I can’t really explain, you just kind of feel it, you know? Especially when you’ve got a character to adhere to. I understand that I don’t need to nor will to interject myself upon every single player to try to “roleplay.” If people are receptive, I will, but if someone else just kind of sees me as a robot to do their chores, if I’m not busy and they’re not constantly pestering me about it, I really don’t mind just being the “bonefix bot.” And yes, I know how to say no. Also I think somebody might come for my life if I don’t apply for something at this point.

Skills:
How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?
Engineering: I think Engineering is my strongsuit and understand the complexities of different cade theories, (the difference between a large multi-layered FOB and a single but effective cadeline with low materials due to undermanned stations). I can scavenge metal from pretty much anywhere when I need it, (windows, chairs, tables, fences, doors, racks, floor tiles with a lathe, etc.) Learned a lot of neat tricks with the ins and outs of engineering with the signallers and stuff from people like ICA (we miss you every day). Can easily build machines, fix APCs, troubleshoot engineering problems. As for Command, I’ve got a lot of experience for the workings of it during an operation, and every function of the consoles. I believe I’m highly proficient in medical due to my ability to understand the chemicals, their side-effects, troubleshoot problems with damage (like that evil paincrit bug where your pain threshhold goes above 80 and the only way to fix it is by admins or fixing the internal organs via surgery literally will insta fix it) as well as my surgery speed, as I’ve taught many others tips and tricks on how to speed their surgery times (multisurgery, stacking surgeries, disarm drill, etc). I am also experienced in the workings of Requisitions and have been taught by awesome people like Henry Marshall and Emiix, and I’ve played all these roles recently so I’m up to date on their changes.
What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.
Avoiding fights is the golden rule, but you’ll always find yourself in the scenarios, and it is up to the player to properly understand the rules their withheld to and react appropriately.
Here’s a decently complex scenario. I am about to do larva removal in the medical dome of LV-624. They were hugged recently, but MEDEVAC has been troublesome all round and I am close to them. I figure it would be within my best interest to do it myself. The dome hasn’t been fortified, but we’re at approximately Containers, and the line of sight is clear. I know a lurker had been reported, but I am unsure if it is dead, or not. Safely making it to medbay, I shock the door closest to us, and the engineer I’m about to do surgery on hands me his omni-sentry, so I deploy it behind me as a protective measure. I ask a marine who runs nearby to guard me for a moment, but they don’t speak and run off. I report that I am in the medical dome doing removal, and begin. Guess what? A lurker strolls in, doesn’t see the sentry, and turns out, it didn’t have ammo to begin with! It runs in to assault me and interrupt my procedure, so I draw a weapon and begin attacking it until it leaves the surgical area of the medical dome. Upon my journey over, there were no spottable weeds nearby to heal from, and I have a marine under my care. I do not chase it further, and hopefully it runs far off to heal. It should buy me enough time to finish the procedure.
A simple one, less complex. A marine is tail hooked and flung into a warrior. It’s heavily weeded and this is near the frontline. I’m not going in there, the best I can do is sit back and hope that the marines push up to clear it out to buy me an opportunity to grab them, but until then, it’s a no-go.
Another simple one. I was ordered to repair engineering, and subsequently, comms. Sure, I can do that. It’s heavily understaffed, and nobody follows me to Engineering. It seems clear for now, but in the middle of repairs, a runner rushes to my position to attack me. I immediately disengage to retreat to a nearby area with other marines as I’m alone. If it persists in following me? If it gets close enough, I’ll try to hit it, but won’t exclusively chase after it.
A marine next to me is being constantly targeted by a backliner. I keep them up to the best of my ability, but the attacks are relentless and they inevitably fall into critical condition. I take my weapon, and hit it a couple of times to force its retreat. It’s just us two, and my priority is now keeping the marine safe. I try to stabilize them if possible, but if they have fractures, it would probably be better to pick them up and carry them, and use my tools to assault the attacker as it returns if I need. Once we’re in a safe spot, I can stabilize and do whatever else I need.

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?
I really wouldn’t be where I was today if it weren’t for all the people who taught me the ins and outs of this game. I’d like to make a synthetic who reflects that kind of personality that they showed to me. There’s a lot of bad apples, sure, but there’s also a ton of good ones out there, too. You’ve just got to find your right crowd.
I intend for my story to showcase more of her personality, rather than her “teaching” side because I feel it wouldn’t fit into the story. Why would Ciara be trying to take the show during an operation?
If you have any questions or concerns, post them, and I will reply to them to the best of my ability. I’d like to mention that any roles with appropriate skills, I would take tools for. (I.E. SO, IO, SL, FTL), as SO I take both medical and engineering, and as SL/FTL I always take tools because I always end up needing them. Fixed comms as an FTL dozens of time, helped build FOB there, too. I’ll post my playtimes in the comments, and I’ve been trying to play xeno more with friends (love u tool and rez and others).
