Mandatory Spypig glazing post incoming
Spypig has given a lot of their personal time into this community already- They’ve poured their love into their role as CO, creating some extremely high effort CO background posts (OPERATION BROKEN SKY - Maj. Katrina 'Katya' Hayes ) whilst also maintaining themselves as a CO who is engaging and fun to play with.
They know when to take it easy to avoid burnout.
In addition, they’d invested themselves into a months-long project (Project Sugarwater P2: Comprehensive HM Tutorials by SpypigDev · Pull Request #7555 · cmss13-devs/cmss13 · GitHub) to seriously improve the situation for new players interested in learning how to be a competent medic, being the main author behind the medical tutorial, which is honestly hands-down the most comprehensive one I’ve seen yet. Whilst half of it didn’t really work out (and it must really suck to work it to such a end-state only to end up closing it), they dealt with it like a champ.
However, the quality that makes me believe they’re a good candidate for being staff is their existing attitude to moderation, which focuses less on hard-ass Beck-style rule-lawyering, and more on the actual spirit of the rules. Moderators exist to ensure that the playerbase has the most fun possible by mitigating the un-fun shit some people get up to. From what moderation I’ve seen Spypig do in other spaces, they always communicates to ensure that people understand that their behaviour was wrong, and why. They’re not a hard-ass, nor are they a human doormat- They’re like a genuine Ozzie community policeman.
