Staff Assassination of Warfan

warfan did objectively shoot himself in the head(figuratively) and willingly leave and also make an inflammatory forum thread that was hidden and got him a forum ban reportedly

he did cool events n stuff but I wouldn’t want an admin with a super hot head like that to handle stuff that could be sensitive or open to interpretation, when I adminned on /tg/ we had people like that and it really fucked with the internal team culture. hopefully he cools off if he ever comes back

in short remember warfan for the good he did but also remember that he did commit community suicide intentionally and checked out of cm for good:tm:

The main counterpoint I can present to this position is that the primary function of a staff member is to attend to administration tasks regarding the community, both within and without. Running events, and being proficient in this, are admirable traits but are, in my opinion, tertiary skills of a staff member. A staff member who runs events to the detriment or complete abandonment of their administration duties simply strikes me as someone who is faltering in their obligations.

I am not stating this to infer or imply that Warfan fits this criterion, since his tenure as an admin was before my time as a moderator, but as a general response regarding your statement.

I can, of course, appreciate the fact that the departure of Warfan has diminished the quantity of large scale HvH events since he was the primary instigator of those events, and some frustration since HvH was a popular event, despite its balance shortcomings.

Holy shit it is Stan the man.

I thought this post, his answer, and this blowup would be the fun drama for this month. How wrong I was.
