ZVineatic - Player Report: Most of the MP Department (Maria A.W. Licorne and Nasoki 'Beans' Chen especially), Rule 11 : Mandatory Obedience

Hello zvineatic, thank you for your patience, the log diving and investigation for this report took me longer than I expected.

I am going to be partially accepting your report.

For the newer MP player, Maria A.W. Licorne, I will not be sanctioning them. Whilst they did make a mistake in not granting the MT a chance to appeal, however this issue was handled by staff during the round. No further action is required.

For the Military Warden, Marcus Johnson, I will not be sanctioning them. Their only relevant act during this report was to confiscate the Type 71 pistol that belonged to the OP. This item is technically a non-standard issue firearm, thus it was within the law to confiscate it.

I would personally have had an issue if the MT was arrested for contraband, as I feel punishing people for owning a item they can buy in their personal loadout would be unfair, but in this case confiscation feels appropriate, and the confiscation itself had no effect on the MT being detained or held for longer than required.

For the Chief MP, Nasoki ‘Beans’ Chen, I will be sanctioning them. My rational for this is that I believe that their conduct towards the MT, specifically in ordering their detainment, initially under a incorrect charge, and then later under ‘false testimony’, was not only incorrectly applied, but apparently done out of some form of malice as interpreted by my log diving.

Whilst I acknowledge that the MT could have done more to render aid to an obviously deceased marine they found on the Almayer, however, I can not find anything they stated or did in-game to warrant being detained in the brig and charged for false testimony, or any other criminal infraction.

All the MT did was state on the radio that they found a dead corpse by the requisition line, exclaiming this on the radio channel. This statement does not in any way deserve being arrested and thrown in the brig.

Considering that Chen’s CMP ban was lifted less than 24 hours from this incident. I will institute a CMP and a Warden ban effective immediately. sandvich123 will be required to appeal their Warden ban before they may appeal their CMP ban, at which time their MP behavior can be better assessed at that time.

That is all.
