Synthetic Info:

Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Marcus

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

The Marcus line of synthetics was created by a group of scientists and a USCM representative with the goal of creating a new synthetic for the marines, capable of both assisting in planning the operation but also in giving the marines confidence in command and their plans. Because of it’s origin the USCM and it’s allies are the only people who can buy the synthetics from the Marcus line. The Marcus we follow is the third one to be purchased by the USCM and was after it’s fourteenth deployment when the events of the story below take place. approximately one year after this the USS Callidora is retired and Marcus is repurposed for use with the USS Almayer.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

Marcus’s personality was optimized to be particularly useful in marine vessels, both for motivation and strategic aid. This is because Marcus has been programmed to absorb and retain details about battles and the tactics and strategies used within them. Marcus’s database on wars goes all the way back to humanity’s oldest battles. Because of Marcus’s personality he will often reference battles in history just in regular conversation. Marcus may also comment on already set plans/maneuvers by stating a time in history when it was used.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

All: would talk about Interesting battles/wars in history and maybe talk about the reasons the victor won
Marine only: Interesting statistics in the current battle, strategies being deploy and times when they were or were not successful.
Officers: Potential strategies and times they were used and why they would be helpful now.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

I want to be a synthetic because I like to roleplay in this game and this would certainly open me up to roleplay more often. And because I love to play CT and corpsmen but this gives me the opportunity to play both at once.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?

Medical: I am able to perform any surgery I could be asked to, and I am able to do it at the bare minimum of a reasonable speed, I can also create all the chems I could be asked to create. When performing surgery I like to get as far as I can get into all of the surgeries I can then when I can no longer use the same tool for each limb I continue with the most complex ones until I can again use the same tools for each limb.

Engineering: I am able to repair comms and sensors. I am able to replace APCs, I can also deconstruct or construct whatever I am asked to. For FOB I make sure I have foldable cades placed near walls so they can’t be pushed into a corner away from doors. I try to keep the defences evenly spread out unless the weaker side is much harder to attack. I have attached 2 screenshots showing parts of a fob I believe should be changed. Light grey represents regular cades, dark grey meaning foldable cades, and red meaning I want those cades to be removed. It can be assumed that any unwired cades will be wired.

Command/req: I can use all the consoles in CIC to send crates, view and update the tac map, give announcements, change squad orders, and purchase tech from the tech consoles. For req I am able to prepare front and fob crates and run the req line quickly, I know all the important slang for weapons and know which vendors to find each piece of common equipment in.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

Frontlines: When on the frontlines you are forbidden from attacking under any circumstances.

Backline: In a small group of 2-3 people I am allowed to defend myself and the group should there be nobody else around to help. For example, if I’m walking with a group of two marines to the far comms relay and a lurker pounces on one of them I would if within a reasonable distance attack it with the intent to get it to leave us alone, I would not follow it if it runs off. should I be in a similar situation but instead of a lurker it’s a force I cannot see reasonable to defend against such as a t3 while we’re near weeds or more than one competent t2; I would run with the marines and if I had to I would rescue the first marine to go down with the hope of rescuing them later. (Should they not be captured.)

Delta alert: You can fight as you see fit but you should not forget that your main objective is to help others.

Final Info:

Have you been banned in the last month?

Hi, thank you for applying to the synthetic whitelist. Unfortunately, this application is denied for a few reasons.

The primary one is the lack of observed roleplay while you were playing - while it is difficult to and not expected of you to be doing everything perfectly and to be roleplaying 24/7, it is a period where you should expect to be observed and generally you should bring your best during the application period.

Your story, while serviceable, is a bit sparse on dialogue. While not necessary to revise, I would recommend additional dialogue if only to allow it to elevate your application more.

If you have any additional questions regarding this, you are welcome to reach out to me on discord.
