Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on CM-SS13?
Yes, like three times, although it was for pretty minor stuff and my last ban has been almost two years ago.
Can you actively engage and communicate with the team through Discord?
Yes.
Final Details:
Why would you like to join the CM-SS13 staff team?
I’ve been around long enough in the community that I think I should start contributing to it more than just being a mentor.
What makes you a great addition to Staff? (Experienced Tabletop DM, Aliens Lore Buff, Super Organized, etc.?)
I am a pretty big fan of the Aliens universe and I have moderating experience from TGMC and TG.
In your opinion, what is the most important quality of a CM-SS13 staff member?
First and foremost I think you have to communicate clearly with the community and you need a lot of patience for this position. Looking for something through logs can sometimes take a lot of time and why you have to communicate clearly is pretty self-explanatory.
I’ve known you for a while and I don’t remember any bad interactions. Besides, checking your note history and knowing how you conduct both IC and OOC, I can vouch for you easily. +1
Since I know you will see this question soon, I think I should ask it now.
Could you tell us a little about your staff experience on TG and TGMC? And if it’s not private, could you tell us why did you leave?
Interacted with Johanna J. Jaakari plenty of times and they know how to roleplay perfectly fine. joooks is a long standing community member who has also been a mentor for over a half year without any issues and has been accepted to the Predator whitelist. They obviously understand the rules and mechanics of the server and clearly have put in effort into making the community a better place. I see no reason not to +1.
I became an admin around october 2020 on TGMC(I think) after being a mentor for a month and stayed an admin up until January 2021, essentially leaving staff after having no administrative issues after completely losing interest in the game due to burnout and the general state of balance. In this time I’ve clocked in 482h online as an admin.
After that I went back to playing TG and got plucked by an Admin Trainer for a trial, passing candidacy with no issues until a month later where I got burnt out from /TG/ itself and decided to quit my trial, mostly due to the atmosphere inside the staff team and my general disappointment towards the way the game was heading, lasting a total month as a trial admin.
Issues arose about a month later when a friend of mine posted a screenshot notifying them that they’re a possible admin candidate in a metacord with admins in it and I was subsequently permabanned after an investigation for leaking admin logs; this is something I admit was a mistake and might be a possible roadblock to me getting mod here, but it was almost three years ago and the ban has been removed last year.
Hello! We’ve met many times in game, some obvious, some not so much. Tell me about your favorite RP experience and why that matters to CM as a broader RP community.
Can you talk a little more about what happened on TG regarding leaks? Because while they aren’t handled with necessarily the same gravity as they are on TG (you probably won’t get permabanned on CM), they are grounds for being removed from the team.
Tell me about your favorite RP experience and why that matters to CM as a broader RP community.
One of my favourite roleplay experiences happened on a round of Chances Claim, where I was standing around roleplaying with a bunch of friends, smack talking each other post round-end and suddenly a EORG-minded alpha appeared and opened fire on us, and since he didn’t have a helmet on, one of the people near me happened to be aiming head which resulted in a swift decap because we retaliated.
After the incident he happened to realize he just blew off another marine’s head, and I passed him a cig - despite him claiming to not be a smoker beforehand, and I’ve seen him in the next rounds smoking normally.
Why does it matter to CM as a broader RP community? Because it shows even due to the perception of CM around the hub that nobody roleplays a character and they’re here just around to chung xenos, cool moments and character development do still happen.
Apologies if what I wrote isn’t quite understandable - I just noticed I left a hole in that wall of text.
I was a trial admin at the time and while I was having a discussion with an admin trainer in ASAY they mentioned they wanted to pick my friend for an admin candidate. I made a screenshot and sent it to my friend and my friend ended up posting it in a metacord with admins in it, months later. I’m not sure what more would you like to know and I’d like you to DM me if you want to know anything more.
So, firstly, as I’ve said before and will continue to emphasize, becoming a member of staff often entails a toll on your ability to actually play the game, ironically. You somewhat lose the “magic” of the experience, and it is typical for staff members to find themselves observing more than playing at times. Considering I know Joooks is a fairly active player from my own personal observations, I believe this is worth pointing out.
I will say, however, that the revelation of your act to leak privileged information, however so minor, to a non-staff member is a concerning discovery, albeit I don’t place significant fault on you for not mentioning it since it is not an exposed requirement of the application process. Nevertheless, that strikes me as a serious breach of any server staff’s code of conduct, and warrants expulsion from the staff team on CM if it occurs here.
Having said this, I do recognise that you, Joooks, have a strong and positive history on CM. I am acutely aware of your in-game conduct and your activity, both as a player and as a mentor, as I have directly observed you act in the manner of a mentor in a professional manner, which is high praise as I oft struggle to recall individual people’s actions at times.
If this negative history with TG and TGMC occurred a long time ago, I’d be willing to accept this application. However if it was more recent, or if the staff of those servers paint a more negative picture of your professional conduct, I’d be forced to append a negative to this application.
Thus I must present a “neutral” score at this time.
+1 from me. Solid mentor, has pred WL, never had a bad interaction with them or heard anything bad on about them on CM. They also RP well and remain active in the community.
awesome mentor and even more awesome player honestly
i appreciate this person. usually i dont trust dirty /tg/ players but i think they’d be really good for the team
+1
