Synthetic Info:

Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Lance

What is your Synthetic’s Personality?

Lance’s model was designed specifically for use by the USCM and other branches or departments of the United Americas. Designers intended for Lance to be able to provide valuable intelligence and morale support for units suffering long-term deployment or heavy attrition. The model’s primary directive is data-analytics and intelligence gathering, in order to preserve operational integrity and provide real-time calculations and tactical support. Having that support at a commander or squad leader’s disposal was the main selling point for Lance’s inclusion in the USCM. Additionally, Lance models are delivered with a personality designed to appeal to USCM forces. This is because Lance’s secondary directive is to strive to maintain a unit’s respect and dedication to their command and the United America’s goals.

Lance’s personality is one of overbearing confidence. This was designed to inspire marines in or out of combat and keep them loyal to their command’s mission and the goals of the United Americas. This is especially useful when paired with his data-analytics, offering tactical advice and support along with his confidence to rally troops towards their goals.

Lance is often quippy, banterful, and playfully sarcastic. Although he understands the importance of seriousness in dire situations, and in those situations will refrain from stating anything that doesn’t directly contribute to saving the lives of surrounding marines. Lance also presents an unwaivering patriotism to the United Americas, and while he may not force the subject matter into conversations, he doesn’t hesitate to commend the United America’s or any UA Authority, including his direct command, when prompted.

How will they react to the different ranks of the USCM, what would they talk about in a one on one conversation? What are their interests? What is an advertisement logline that could be written for them?

Lance’s interests compose of those that might be found in a stereotypical marine. He enjoys smoking cigars, listening to metal, and has a love for firearms. Remarkably, however, he does not share a disdain for commanding officers and the USCM as a whole like some marines might, due to his personality’s goal being to draw marines to have a more positive outlook towards their command, nation, and duties.

When speaking with officers, Lance will always address them as Sir or Ma’am accordingly, and shows the respect that a subordinate would have for their officer. He also abstains from providing advice unless prompted. Though this might change depending on the severity of the circumstances.

Lance will often find himself hanging around with random groups of enlisted, and does his best to maintain a healthy relationship with the marines in his unit. He enjoys bantering when circumstances allow, and won’t hesitate from involving himself with marine activities. Lance will also put his data-analytics to use in this, storing information about marines in his unit in order to maintain a personal connection to them.

Being a data-analytical model, Lance fits in as well with the Intelligence section of the USCM. If circumstances allow, he may spend an operation collecting intelligence, or aiding with indexing and processing the information back on the ship. Similarly he might involve himself with research, aiding where he can. However, his personality still shines through, and he will bring his confidence to bear in any situation, even if it’s just scanning and analyzing disks.

An advertisement logline for Lance would be: “When morale is low, and ammo is running dry, turn to Lance. Lance’s charasmatic nature, and vital analytical support can mean life or death for our troops. Don’t leave their lives to fate, leave them to Lance.”

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

I have been seeking the Synthetic whitelist off and on for a little over two years now. In that time, and even before it, I realized that I am a very supportive player in CM. I prefer taking roles like Hospital Corpsman, or ComTech, or Doctor. As a result of that, and experimentation with all of the other roles available to me, I believe that Synthetic is the perfect spot for me as a player. Mechanically, I am in love with the role for it’s broad scope and it’s overlap between most support caste. From a roleplay perspective, I find that synthetics, and their unique personalities, is one of the most exciting roleplay opprotunities in CM. I have been a roleplayer for close to a decade now, and I believe wholeheartedly I can contribute to the server, not just as a support role in a game, but as an element of the in-character universe.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

One of my most memorable interactions with a synth was actually with a survivor synth. I rolled survivor, ended up as a Wey-Yu guard, and met with my fellow survivors, one of which being Day. After surviving and boarding the Alamayer, Day and myself visited the CL, where we were reemployed under Wey-Yu. We were given supplies and sent back to the planet to complete Wey-Yu goals groundside. I had a lot of fun interacting with Day throughout the entire situation. If it hadn’t been for their character, I likely would’ve just did what I generically do as a survivor, but their character, their roleplay and the opprotunity they presented through it led me on a fun adventure that I fondly look back on. I enjoyed the interaction so much that I now do my best to try to interact with any synth I see, whether its a little chat or sometimes joining them throughout the round.

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

Engineering:

Engineering is my most experienced field. I am able to plan and establish a strong cadeline, or FOB, and have an great understanding of cade theory. I am also aware of the gravity of my cadelines, and the situations that it may be presented, and do my best to plan accordingly for that; IE- Heavy traffic flow, or the most likely point of assault by xenos. I have a firm understanding of electrical, and can hack, repair generators, and repair APCs easily. Likewise, my grasp on deconstruction is good, I can decon fences, tables, shelves, doors, walls, and know the steps well enough to do quickly. I also have an understanding of metal economy, and the importance of having enough materials to cade, or replace a cade when necessary. I also understand the importance and the steps to maintain a firm cade line in an active siege situation. These all make me a valuable Combat Technician. ComTech 89.6hr

Command:

While I do not play command nearly as much as I do engineering or medical roles. I do understand how the roles work, and the fundementals of the roles. I can easily navigate overwatch consoles, command computers, and understand their functionality entirely. I also understand how to reassign squads, give or take IFF, and alter ID permissions. I have enough time in command roles and enough experience to be able to perform their duties, or interact with their equipment easily when necessary. XO 30hr, SO 21.5hr, SL 40.8 Hr

Medical:

Personally, Medical was the most challenging field for me to master. It is a very intricated role, to a level that matches its importance. I am in the firm belief that this is a role where you never stop improving, and one must play it ready to learn and adapt to better perform later. That being said. I understand the fundementals of the role, and know what every medicine does and what treatment is needed for any kind of wound, surgery or otherwise. As a Corpsman, I understand and demonstrate good technique to recover downed marines, and utilize the time I have to efficiently treat their wounds and revive them. I understand the importance of certain drugs like oxy and epi, and when to utilize them to best help my fellow marines. I can confidently save one or two -600% damaged marines at one time, and understand the process enough to act quickly, effectively, and complete the proper steps to save them before perma. Likewise, in a normal combat situation, I can calmly handle a queue of 3-5 marines around me, and have demonstrated multiple times in the past my ability to maintain a cool-head and manage my resources to act accordingly in a mass-cas situation. I often bring plenty of extra medical equipment, including splints, trauma and burn kits, and spare pill bottles/injectors to ensure I have enough supplies through the op and limit my need to leave the front. I have a strong understanding of, and am confident in surgery, and I can rapidly and easily perform the needed treatments from memory without delay in steps. I also have knowledge of surgery shortcuts, such as double-scalpeling, retracting on a broken chest and head without needing to saw, and so on. I also understand the importance of cooperating with fellow medics while treating someone, and the importance of holding up an item or using other means of quick communication to ensure no error or overdoses. Corpsman 80.6hr, Doctor 58.2hr

Requisitions:

While I do not play Cargo Tech itself often, in many occasions I have volunteered and been put to work helping assist Requisitions as another role: Normally as a rifleman or an SO. Even though my overall playtime in this field isn’t nearly as high as the other three sections, I still fully understand the role, and can effectively man requisitions and prepare/drop supply crates as needed. I can quickly navigate any of the Req vendors, I can process orders without any issues. I understand how the ASRS console works, as well as managing a budget. I know to stamp and return receipts. I have a good understanding of the economy planetside, and what valuable supplies to send in order to support the mission, as well as working with command to launch frontline or comms supply drops and help limit marine resupply trips to fob. I also understand the black market system and know how it works. Cargo Tech 11.3hr, Quartermaster 2.1hr, ASO 4.9hr

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

A synthetic should NOT perform combat unless in very specific scenarios, such as those where the life of said synthetic is actively threatened, and said threat cannot be avoided.

Examples of this would be:

A xenomorph is on the flank of the FOB, destroying a vital, undefended, cade and a witnessing synthetic might engage it from a place of safety in order to deter it, as the active threat of the breach could mean death for both the synth and the marines inside.

Another example would ne if a synth were moving to or from the FOB. Along the way they are ambushed by a runner. The synth would continue running if it saw the chance, however if cornered and found in a position where it cannot escape, it might be forced to attack in order to clear a way for escape.

A final example is one where a synthetic may be found in a delta scenario. This could mean that the synthetic is a survivor from the colony (before help has arrived), perhaps it has been left on the colony following an evacuation, or it could even be on the ship when there is a clearly established active boarder or hijack scenario. The synthetic may engage in these scenarios because the threat it is facing has established itself to the point where it must be neutralized to ensure the synthetic can survive as well as those around it. (This is not an excuse for the synthetic to take on the hordes of xenos like a terminator, but instead should it see an opportunity to pick off a vulnerable target, it may strike in a hit and run manor, striking cut off hostiles that may be easy pickings, while avoiding larger groups or bigger threats that might overpower the synthetic.

Considering the entire synth council has been removed and is currently being replaced synth applications are currently going to be put on pause. It is nothing against you or your application, just poor timing.

You are free to reapply as soon as the application process is restarted again.

This application is denied until then, apologies.
