Helena

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

Helena was developed through a cooperation between the Research and Development departments of the Three World Empire and the United Americas. Its primary purpose was to aid officers and troops from both factions during operations on largely inhospitable planets or in environments with extreme climatic challenges. The first Helena unit prototype was assigned to LV-559 on Sadimia, the very location of Major Lopits’ Operation Jungle Hearts.
Designated as a field test, Helena had already passed initial parameters and held great promise as an innovative asset for field operations, especially as the terrain on Sadimia was becoming increasingly challenging the more the rebels dug in.

She was then assigned aboard the USS Elísios, where she assisted with repairs and maintenance of the new mainframe for the Conestoga-Class.

In addition to being a specialized unit for field support, she proved capable in engineering and the advanced repair of any machinery in need. Throughout the process, she maintained the safety of the department members as required. Uniforms and regulations exist for a reason.
Following this, Helena was deployed for the final operation on Sadimia, codenamed Dragon Tiger, where she assisted a Royal Marines Commando Major known as Fairburn. Helena endured intense combat, managed to hold a secure area during the firefight, retreating when her programming noticed the dangerr and continued to follow her directives while providing all possible assistance. Which is very much detailed in the Operation Report itself.
Thanks to her, Major Fairburn survived and were later rescued, although the outcome of the operation is unknown.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

Above all, supportive, she is a unit that believes in everyone doing their part, just as she does hers, without discriminating against anyone but she would always try and help those in need or seemingly confused. Diligent by design, she starts a task and sees it through to the end, completing it to the highest standard possible. And finally, respectful, she understands everyone is there for a reason and treats all those around her with the utmost respect.

Helena will see through any challenge and will always try her best for her Marines & Officers, never leaving one down.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

Enlisted: Around marines and other lower ranking personnel, the backbone of any force, Helena’s position would be casual and relaxed, certainly more conventional, suited for a calm conversation without complex formalities that might “”““scare””“” a marine who just wants a quick talk, “Good Morning” or is asking what she is. Just as they are all there out of necessity or doing their part for a greater good, she is also with them doing her own part. She is still ready to assist anyone if a question should happen to arise, be it a Private, Corporal, etc.

Officers: Officers are stern and formal. It is ESSENTIAL to use their rank unless instructed otherwise. She always positions herself as ready for a task and, if necessary, offers to assist a department at every opportunity, though she will always ask permission to use that department’s equipment/materials, no matter how mundane the task may be.
She will execute their superiors orders without question, filtering for viable commands and carrying them out with her characteristic diligence. The chain of command must NEVER be broken.

Civilians: Helena understands very well that many of the civilians this far out in the Neroid system came here seeking a quiet life, many lured by Weyland-Yutani propaganda. If Helena encounters any civilian, regardless of age or gender, she will be the supportive unit that person needs while obviously maintaining coherence with her own orders and duties, but swiftly assisting these unfortunates in Neroid, independent of her operation.
She escorts them carefully and, after a brief inspection (Self experience from Sadimia, insurgents are all around), informs the civilians of the current situation. This is her first action upon encountering a civilian or group of civilians.

Overall, Helena would be acting within her purpose at all times while still being on tone with respect and command.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

Personally, I feel I have now reached a point where I understand a large part of the game, its style, the community, and how things work for the most part if not fully.
So, after some encouragement, I decided to gather all this knowledge and desire to create something new within the game. Since there isn’t much left to innovate on at my current stage (personal feeling), I’m applying for the whitelist.
I want to see others reactions to the simplest conversations with Helena and to completing tasks with a new gameplay perspective, one entirely focused on creating general immersion for those around me, something i could do with peace in mind and not the rush of rolling Commanding Officer and having to watch the operation and fix the little errors.

In other words, I want to experience something new, a feeling I’ve been keeping along a strong desire for over some time now, to truly put myself in that role. I can say, with all my heart, that this is probably the application I am most excited to get approved.

Regarding the trust factor, I believe this is quite individual. I’ve had many issues with toxicity in the past, and I won’t lie, it hasn’t ended completely, but it has reduced significantly compared to years ago.
I hope that the players and the council members see an opportunity and my dedication through this application and hopefully, decide to give me a chance to prove this desire to transform rounds into something more alive and diverse

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?

Regarding all of them: although I don’t think I’m very proficient in Engineering, for example, setting up a camera network, etc. I do have more extensive knowledge when it comes to building machines/computers. Surgery and overall medicine was the second support role I picked up and played an absurd amount after Command roles like Staff Officer, and in that area, I HOPEFULLY think I am proficient. While Requsitions was my last support role that i have tested, it is by far the most easy one.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

“Si vis pacem, para bellum”
I will be making examples about situations i will find Helena in on most of the time:

Helena was in the Hydroponics center during an operation with a large number of players on LV-624, when a Facehugger appeared from the eastern jungle and tried to infect one of the wounded marines she was attempting to stabilize after he was found in critical condition. Helena quickly moved to punch the Facehugger, even though its acid could damage the marines nearby.

A group of two marines were running back to the FOB after the frontline collapsed within ETA on Solaris Ridge. A flank cut off their retreat to the north, and the entire frontline was decapitated. Some managed to flee to the west, and Helena decided to follow and assist the two marines who passed through the extreme southwest Mining region. Suddenly, one of them, wearing heavy armor, was pounced by a Lurker. Helena quickly returned and, with the help intent, lifted the marine, who promptly retaliated against the Lurker but still fell wounded. Helena then engaged in combat to force the xeno to retreat, and carried the marine to the north.

During a Delta alert situation, two Runners went after Helena, who fought back and forced them to flee. However, one that was already wounded decided to come back and ended up on the bad side of events. Although Helena pursued the critically wounded Runner who managed to go into a resin door (that was still open), she landed a final blow to finish off the xenomorph and quickly ran off.

Final Info:

Have you been banned in the last month?

No

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

During this weekend i will not be home, but today and after the weekend has ended i will be mostly active.

Thank you to those who shared their time with me during the Lore writing process and reviewed my questions about the Programming and Whitelist themselves.

Lowkey a noob but great at fragging marines. Jokes aside, everyone knows Lopits, they know that they’re an extremely good RP person, and just all around a cool person. I would say more but other people are going to do that for sure.

+1 for the reasons below

I have known Lopits for a long time, besides being a friendly member of the community who introduced me to many people, they are also a competent player ingame.

The majority of my experiences with Lopits were in CIC some time ago, Lopits always stayed immersive and never broke charachter, always have been friendly and interactive. Also quite a good corpsman, although I cannot vouch for the other competencies. It wouldnt hurt to familiarise yourself more with engineering though, especially the nieche stuff as you’ll get treated as an SEA at times by other engineering players in regards to setting cameras and computers. (In my experience, this happened quite frequently and it was kinda embarassing to say I dont know how to connect a camera network to a computer)

The only thing keeping me kind-of on the fence is the personality, how will I be able to distinguish you from other synthetics other than name and looks, seeing as all synthetics are meant to be “caring” and kind to an extent? Not judging per say, just food for thought.

Still a +1 from me, kind and competent player.

I mean, come on. It’s Lopits

On a more serious note, I’ve known them for years ATP, and not once have I seen them in a situation that would suggest they shouldn’t be trusted with the responsibilities on the Synth WL. They’ve already reflected their ability to hold up the standards of the CO whitelist - you’re a smart cookie this should be a breeze.

though I don’t think I’m very proficient in Engineering

You’re being modest. I see you doing a good job as Comtech quite often, and setting up camera networks isn’t too difficult. That + your CE hours - I think if you were incompetent and had nearly 90 hours on CE there would be a lot of people calling you out on said incompetence, which I haven’t seen.

Hello Medeelel18,

So, i believe everyone here could see that my

Is currently empty, turns out that the formulary for the application itself had some issues and didn’t come out for me to fill it up.
So i’ll be using your comment to add some interactions and still answer your “question” which is on a perfect topic.

First Interaction:
I had the pleasure of playing with Liliya (which is Cybs Synthetic) for a loooong time, long before i even had my first whitelist or any memorable reputation in the game at all. i remember one time after briefing during a low-pop round where me and Liliya started talking about individual happiness, of course, my character as Isabel referred to the companionship of others, mainly of Liliya herself for actually stopping and listening to what was at the time, a silver medal FTL Lopits, despite me putting it thousands of words for the dramatic sense of the conversation, Liliya ended up as of course, In-character being unable to ““feel”” those emotions still reply as basically;

“While being unable to understand or fully comprehend the basic sense of human emotions, i still could say that seeing others such as you, ‘happy’ brings me comfort. In the end, you could say that i am happy?”

Not phrased as it was, but still how i remember that interaction to be, and by far the reason i keep Liliya as probably one of the best synthetics out there.

Second Interaction:
It was a LV-624 round, April was present at the time and i was already a Plat FTL, oooooold hairstyle aswell, we spent the entire round running around the colony, mainly because i was following her, watching what she did and sometimes shooting any xenos that came near to us, despite she being the one that saved me the most on that round i still had an absolute blast of fun and kept an image for record right as the round was ending and she came to me

I had a blast of a round.

Now for your question of thought:
I do believe that i made the history itself of the synthetic something apart from the general units that are around, by itself Helena is meant to be a synthetic that goes around Shipside just like any other Synth does and helps with the departments. What points her out is the INTENT she was made for, which in general is to be the Acting-Commander or Commander himself during most parts of the Operation, specially when deployed to the groundside.
As it goes for the common Marine and his roleplay with Helena, i would easily say that she contains quite the experience herself as an unit that spends most of her time inside of military facilities, there isn’t much i could point out in her personality without actually roleplaying it in firsthand, that is why i think this point is a little bit sketchy. But still, i do hope the history and answers were up to standards medeelel18, and sorry if i couldn’t bring peace to your thought.

Despite being the worst smartgunner to ever exist (please stop taking my rolls and get your ass back in the CIC bubble where you belong), Luscao is a competent and capable player. They’ve certainly mellowed out compared to when they began, and having a wealth of staff and CO experience, there’s not really any doubts as to whether they would have any trouble upholding the synthetic WL’s rulebook and roleplay standards.

I have no doubts that they’ll perform well as a synthetic, and be a fantastic addition to the whitelist.

Personally, I don’t really care about synthetic quirks- Being remembered as ‘quirky synth who does a somersault + finger guns after every 2nd sentence in [insert stereotypical accent here]’ is less important than being willing to create unique roleplay experiences with other players.

Can’t wait to finally be able to salt on a clanker SO (s*nthetic officer). Maybe if Luscao plays synth instead of CO, marine winrates will finally start rising again.

Lopits is a very good roleplayer and very competent with most areas that are routinely used by synths. I’d be happy to see Helena aboard the USS Almayer!

Hope to see you on Working Joe soon :fire:

1+!

All interactions I’ve had with Lucasos’ characters (Most notably, Isabel Lopits), have been enjoyable, and their roleplay is up to the bar of what I’d expect someone applying for the synthetic whitelist.

(So called whitelist)

P.S; Fax responder is the a REAL whitelist, and should be respected as such! This slanderous libel will not be easily forgotten!

One of my favorite CM players and someone who’s left an incredibly positive impression on me each and every time I’ve interacted with them on top of being a great roleplayer. +1
