I wouldn’t mind if IB was removed from head - less of a hassle everytime you get slashed and brain damage already exists as a punishment. Besides it feels kinda silly - wouldn’t IB in your skull kill you very fast irl? Muh realism.
Wanna drip? Pay for it. Also, the fuck is this cope? Brain and eye damage is the most easy to heal organ damage, it’s cured with a single pill. IB is scary, but it’s not exclusive for head anyway, so who cares?
By the way, a while ago I suggested a trait that gives your head helmet protection, but you can’t cure brain damage with IB. Explanation is your skull is so thick, you don’t have much space for brain. This is a compromise I can see. But everything else is just pathetic.

I mean if you are a marine without helmet (like me yay) it is exclusive to the head. Just because you arent going to get it anywhere else because xenos wont target other parts. Aside from the normal complication of not wearing a helmet like decaps (which objectively dont happend that often from like 500 of my marine hours it has happened to me a max times of 15) I do agree that it seems that the Ib is too common. I certanly didn’t see the ammount of IBs that I have now some months ago, so either xenos just target the head more or something else is going on. And I do accept the risks of not wearing a helmet, I have been accepting a long time now but it does seem strange all the IBs I get lol, like just getting my head fixed and 2 slashes or a tailstab to need to go back.
I just want to say that we are still playing a game, even if you (referring to all reading this comment) would want a more “authentic” game I don’t see the point of making it extreamly harder experiencie for someone who just wants to make an aesthetic change. This is not to say that the game as it is right now makes it that hard, most of the time for me is just an extra hassle to manage it just looks like me that some of the people commenting here want to make it a that way hahaha. In any that is just what I want to say, if you want to add a bit more of realism so that the game feels more authentic fine by me, just leave a bit of space for some more personal aesthetic choice. Btw if we are talking about realism why arent people with helmet able to be decaped? Does the helmet also cover the neck?

The reason it’s gotten worse and worse to not wear a helmet is because we’ve made armor protect more. Consequently, you see the effects of not wearing it more sharply when you voluntarily take off a piece of armor protecting a lot of vital organs.
There isn’t some ploy by Big Helmet to ensure every marine is wearing one. It’s just typical power creep.

Who would have thought helmet save lives, there’s a reason militaries have their troops equipped with helmets.
On the contrary, it DOES work, I made it so.
(Just not against acid gas, how would it protect you against acid gas, I don’t get why people think it should)
medic main take: IB should probably be a bit rarer in general but I don’t mind healing helmetless marines IB, if you come to me like 3 times in 10 minutes with IB I might do /me sighs but I enjoy healing and healing IB included, also just ask for IA to fix your blurry vision any competent medic will have it

I do agree that Internal Bleeding feels fairly easily acquired. I’ve had plenty of cases where I’ve taken a fracture, moved three tiles away, and suffered a internal bleeding wound. Its pretty common and very annoying.

you can toggle walk mode to stop yourself from getting organ damage/IB from fractures. actually doesn’t work.
