Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?
I want to become a Fax Responder as a means of creating more RP interactions and making rounds more interesting. Although I have no experience as a Fax Responder, I believe myself to be knowledgeable in both Marine Law and general Marine RP. Therefore the roles I mostly will be playing is High Command and Provost Fax Responders. I hope to break the monotony of rounds and allow others to enjoy slower rounds more when I play Fax Responder.
What do you consider the purpose of this role?
I believe this role to be a middle ground of sorts between player and staff. If I remember correctly, it was also the duty of Staff to respond to faxes whenever possible, however, this lead to most Faxes not being responded to when the Staff didn’t feel like it, busy with ahelps, or other reasons. I believe it was the intention of this role to allow trustworthy players to step up in the place of Staff to interact with those who use this niche fax system, and allow for more RP between Marines and their high command counterparts.

Same question I asked the others. Per the rules of the WL, you may only call the Almayer under EXCEPTIONAL circumstances What would you define that as?

Let me take you through my thought process:
So right now, the obvious no-nos are for casual communication and assignments. They can be done through fax. Originally, I would have said to intervene when a person, such as me playing Provost on an MP is doing something rulebreaking. However, admins handle that and therefore I believe not an exceptional reason.
One could say that when the fax machine(s) are destroyed, however I do not believe this to be exceptional as it is an intentional IC action, intentionally or not to hinder communication to that fax.
In all honesty, I don’t think IS really a reason to use the phone, as anything that happens either lies in the territory of IC action, or for admins.
However, if I had to say there was a middle ground between the two where I CAN call the Almayer, I would say this exceptional circumstance is through event privileges, for instance a rule 0 circumstance since this WL seems to be managed by staff, or a message from high command noting I CAN use the phone to deliver an important message. Or a person is making a serious IC mistake that does not violate any of the server rules, and fax is not possible. An example of where this does apply is that despite company orders, the liaison is growing a xenomorph hive in their office, and their fax machine is destroyed. This applies here because there is absolutely no way to communicate via fax, and by doing this, escalates the situation further depending on what the Liaison does in response, and develops the roleplay situation for both parties, as I believe Fax responder to be a driver of roleplay.

Actually, the wikipage states example suggestions that can be given. So it’s pretty open and shut. However, in essence of all the objectives. A rule of thumb is that they must be non-antagonistic and can be reasonably completed by the Liaison is what I consider to be within my power. That and of course, being in the relative theme of it.
Same as what I said above - generally reasonable objectives that can be completed by the CC that are in the general theme of its nature. Such as interviewing 5 marines, or someone in command.
