Synthetic Info:
Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:
Grace
What is your Synthetic’s Personality?
Grace as a Synth line was designed for Geological and Geographical surveys. Initially designed to help W-Y colonists and scientists, her priority was to handle crew on planets with harsh climates and stressful situations for long periods of time. The UA and USMC purchased a few models as they gave insight into Geological and Geographical data to better help Command staff prepare for operations, to better understand the environments, as well as being able to form bonds and strongly socialize with crew.
As Grace units are designed for long-term operations, they appear friendly, curious and often give small words of advice, this advice can sometimes be redundant and obvious, but her main goal is to prevent accidents and further issues. Grace Unit’s main goal with their socialization is to elevate stress and make sure crew can do their job, as with the colonies she was designed to work with if someone could not work it could lead to deaths or worse.
How will they react to the different ranks of the USCM, what would they talk about in a one on one conversation? What are their interests? What is an advertisement logline that could be written for them?
Grace. Geographical Research, Analysis and Chemical Extraction units. Designed to better know where you are to know where you are heading.
Grace would treat marines and non-command staff as peers or Co-workers. She is not afraid to form bonds with staff, as strong bonds often lead to higher productivity, and was designed to work with colonists for long periods of time. Her main goal with Non-command staff is to make sure they can still do their jobs and be able to work proficiently. She would not be afraid to give small bits of advice to better help them or to consul, her main goal at the end of the day is to support the crew to keep them alive and happy.
Grace would treat Command staff as Site directors or bosses, she would treat them with great deals of respect, but there would be an underling tone of casualness. She would like non-command staff be not afraid to form bonds with her. Her main goal with non-command staff is to best inform them pre-deployment of the planet they are on if they are willing or able to listen. She would be an advisor figure, pointing out possible issues that may occur during the deployment from the Geography of the area, such as climate, speleology (the study of caves) and Geology.
There would be one outlier for both, however, that would be research staff. She would treat research staff as professors on top of their field. She would ask them questions about their research, trying to further her own understanding. Not only that, but she would ask questions about the chemicals they have, the hostiles on the planet, and she would give her own analysis to research to better help them understand situations.
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?
I find supportive roles to be one of the few things to bring me back to this game repeatedly. While I have preferences of those supportive roles preferring medical. After some time to better my skills to roleplay and play supportive roles, I fell I would be a good fit for role to be a synth. Of course, it is for others to decide and not myself.
What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?
In recent times, I was playing with Willard as a Surv on NV, I was playing a Sarah Lyell and her whole gimmick is that she is mute and has to communicate in odd hand gestures or other means other than her voice. While we didn’t fully interact with each other, we did bounce off each other I felt and it just made the atmosphere great to roleplay with.
Synthetic Character Story:
Skills:
Engineering:
One of my strongest roles, I have no fear of wasting metal in a choke point to secure the lines even for a second, I am a risk taker when I’m at the front with cades, I am very aggressive with them. My choices for layouts of cade-lines might seem odd at points but there is logic applied to it. Generally my rule of thumb is to have as much line of sight possible. As for other mechanics in the game when it comes to engineering. I know how to gather supplies quickly, repair APC’s etc, I do feel the only mechanic I have not played around with is driving and repairing vehicles as I just generally have not been able to experience it much in my playtime.
Command:
Not my strongest, acting as form of leadership- I more like to play dumbass, When I am XO I often disregard most tactics preferring ungaballs. For MP stuff I would be less confident in, this is mostly because every-time I’ve played MP in recent date its not been a normal experience. Generally though, I know most Marine law from the top of my head so its fine in that retrospect. As for other functions of command? generally if you put me in any position that command usually does, I would be more than fine I know how to launch OB’s, supply drops handle and communicate to squads,
Medical:
The role I am the strongest in, I think the only thing lacking for medical is my experience with research, but even then I can still cook up basic stims. I’ve lost count to the amount of mass causalities I’ve experienced. Hell I got bored one day and invented a very different way to play medic with my usual loadout. The only issue I have with medical is that I often get too focused on keeping marines alive myself I forget other medics exist and forget to ask for help.
Requisitions:
Probably my weakest role, I generally don’t know how to run an effect req budget with orders- I more than likely never really will as req is the only supportive role I don’t really have fun with outside of Roleplay. but I do know how to run req lines and send supplies down, I just- wouldn’t be the most efficient with handling it as I often fumble spelling when searching for items adding time. I am however aware of most abbreviations for supplies so its not really a hustle either way.
What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.
The goal for a Synth if it engages in combat is self preservation. It is bound by Marine Law to follow strict rules in its use of violence. A synth may only engage in combat if it feels threatened, there is an active threat, and the synth does not have support to remove that threat.
Hostile factions not a part of the UA are not protected by Marine law. This means that the Synth may engage in lethal means to remove a threat if it persists with a lack of support.
Marines and factions allied to the UA such as WY, are protected by Marine law and would, if they were to become a threat to the synths life- be treated with non-lethal means.
A synths goal is always to serve the crew, this means that if combat puts crew at risk, the Synth cannot take part and can only try to deescalate the situation via whatever aid it can provide.
